OUR PRAYER FOR THIS UPCOMING CAMPAIGN Father, We are grateful for the gift of our church and the blessings of its parishes, schools and ministries. Please watch over us as we embark on this campaign, CATHOLIC STRONG, which will fortify these gifts for the benefit of the entire community of South Jersey. Let this be an opportunity to celebrate our tradition of church teaching by going outward, strengthening our future and becoming Missionary Disciples of your Son, Jesus Christ, to the people of Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties. We pray that you watch over us and guide us as we invigorate our parishes and leadership, raise our public image, embrace our diversity, and continue to serve Your mission on Earth. Father, bless our campaign and send forth your Holy Spirit so that we will be for years to come CATHOLIC STRONG .

THIS NEW CATHOLIC STRONG CAMPAIGN NEEDS YOUR TALENTS AND GIFTS! We are building a Leadership Team to help with this Campaign. The Team will consist of the following: (see chart ) If you are able to give 3 to 4 hours per week to this campaign and have friendly people skills to make this campaign a success, please call the parish office at 927-1154. Give your name and phone number so we can invite you to our next meeting.

Catholic Strong: Proposes a 5 Year Commitment (some cases, 3 years). Parish split is 70% remaining HERE.

As a Block 2 Parish, Our Catholic Strong Campaign strategy during the summer has involved the recruitment of Parishioners willing to serve on the Parish Catholic Strong Committee. Fr. Harte, as Pastor, heads the ef-fort. Billie McClintock will serve as Secretary. To date, a number of dedicated parishioners have agreed to of-fer their time and dedication to making contacts with Parishioner-Donors during September, October, November and early December. Those Team Members include: Pat Koelling, Marge Spilker, Walter Klaus and Barbara Douglas. I am pleased that other members of the Parish Finance Council have been encouraged to join the efforts. Those individuals are: Joe Dugan, Debbie Camp, Susan Hughes, Kevin McCusker and Deacon Joe Lonergan. We will need a person for publicity, curating the signs and banners (which have already been printed) look for them on the lawn and hanging inside our buildings! There will be a 1 hour weekly Monday night meeting at 7:00 p.m. beginning in late August in the Parish Office. Training for these tasks will be offered right here in the Parish Office in early September. Some of those vital projects for which these funds will be collected will include: Replacing the Main Church AC system, repave, seal and line Church Parking lot and Hall lot; renovate Church lobby to include NEW Restrooms for Women and Men (toilets, urinals, sinks, changing stations, renovate Ushers room as Confession/Adoration Space, purchasing new server Processional Candles and bases. In the hall, renovate classrooms with new carpet as well as the hallway, install new ceiling tiles and supports, install new hall floor tiles and renovate hall bathrooms. We are awaiting final approval of out list, but these are some key items! Have any of these proposed projects been on your mind? Let us respond to the opportunity we have been given to put “vision into action” which will lead us through our Parish’s 50th Anniversary and beyond.

May God Bless you. Fr. Harte

PERPETUAL ADORATION 24 HOURS/DAY-7 DAYS/WEEK

When we gaze upon the Holy Eucharist we are seeing the Creator of the Universe. We see God our Father, Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that when we see Him, we see the Father. How blessed we are even though we do not see all His Glory as in the Transfiguration. It would be too much for our senses to absorb and we are not purified to

behold such a sight. Come into the presence of our God and as Peter and John said, “It is good for us to be here.”

ADORERS, OFFER ONE HOUR THIS WEEK FOR ALL THE DYING THAT THEY MAY SEE GOD IN

ALL HIS GLORY SOON. PRAY FOR ALL IN PURGATORY THAT THEY MAY BE WITH OUR

GLORIOUS GOD SOON AND PRAY FOR ALL THE LIVING THAT DO NOT RECOGNIZE OUR

GLORIOUS CREATOR IN JESUS.

Internationally acclaimed speaker and author Chris Stefanick speaks about the importance of living a life of authenticity with a courageous commitment to love. He walks us through seven habits that we can use as modern-day apostles to effectively spread the good news

to Jesus Christ. Following these lessons will help us to fulfill our calling to be fearlessly, joyfully Catholic, with a faith that is attractive, life-giving, and truly contagious. CDs and pamphlets are located in the vestibule of the church. Kindly donate $4.00 each, or make checks payable to the parish. Please consider sharing your CD once you've listened to it!"

Stewardship Sharing “Each day the people are to go out and gather their daily portion; thus will I test them ,to see whether they follow my instructions or not.” (EXODUS 16:4) When the Israelites gathered more

than their daily portion of manna, the surplus became wormy and rotten. In the same way today self-reliance pride and ego leads to hoarding and excessive surplus of goods and money. Living a Stewardship lifestyle helps us discern our “wants” from our “needs”. Living a generous lifestyle reminds us that God will provide all that we need and that we have plenty to share.

St. Joseph’s Preschool embraces the love of learning and sharing with one another in an environment which is rooted in

our Catholic faith and the love of Jesus and God the Father. The Pre-K 3 and 4 programs are now accepting applications for the fall for children who will be age 3 or 4 by 10/1. Preschoolers may attend part-time or full-time. If you would like more info about preschool, or Grades K-8 at SJRS, please call Ellen Fletcher at 927-2228, x 11.

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), is a process developed by the Catholic Church for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism. Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices. If you are interested in RCIA, please call Fr. Harte at 927-1154.

The Diocese of Camden offers the School of Ministries for Catholic Prospective Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors. Our Lady of Sorrows is in need of both Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors. If you are interested in serving our church in either/or both of these ministries, please call the Parish Office at 927-1154. Fr. Harte would be most appreciative of your interest and support. Thank you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUNE!! We celebrate you on your 100th Birthday. Thank you for being a faithful Eucharist Minister, Perpetual Adoration adorer and for your many years of service to Our Lady of Sorrows Church!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
