CREATIVE COMMUNITY PROJECT

This program w il l be running on a Monday for 5 weeks.

ENTRY & EXIT AT OUR LADY OF THE SOUTHERN CROSS.

Some of you may have noticed that we now have an electronic Sign in/Sign out facility at our reception desk.

All staff and visitors to the school, are now required to register their presence on site via the Ipad, from which you will be provided with a label, to be displayed, showing the purpose for your visit.

Students who arrive late and leave early must also be signed in/out via the Ipad.

We have also noticed that there is a number of parents who walk through the front foyer before and after school to drop off or collect their children. All drop off 's and collections are to be made via the side gates, directly to the Learning Centres.

Any parents wishing to access the Learning Centres via the foyer, must first advise Ruki & Jane of their arrival and sign in.

Children are also reminded that they are to enter and exit the school via the side gates, NOT the foyer.

Although the painting is of Mary she is focused completely on the child Jesus who is the centre of this work, and the centre of our focus - our saviour. Also included in this painting are typical Australian symbols -the Southern Cross in the night sky, a garland of wattles and Australian landscape as a background which has been inspired by the works of Australian artists such as Arthur Streeton and Tom Roberts.

We will celebrate our Feast Day with mass next Thursday in the sports centre commencing at 9.15am. We look forward to sharing it with you. After mass each learning centre will spend some time playing games of yesteryear - with the seniors joining our Preps on the day.

Year Six Pilgrimage

On Wednesday, September 7th our Year six students will be joining with all Year six students from our Parish schools for a pilgrimage to St. Andrew?s church. It will commence with a walk along the Werribee River, staring at the Linear Reserve and conclude with a celebration at St. Andrew?s church followed by a drink and snack at St. Andrews PS. We look forward to sharing stories of the day in the week to follow.

Congratulations to our team of 37 students who ran, jumped and threw great distances in representing our school on Wednesday at the VUT athletics? track.

These students will continue on to the Division Athletics on Tuesday, 13th September. Well done Maja, Gemma, Charli and Reikken.

2016 CAR RAFFLE LAUNCHAs you are aware, the Parish is launching their 2016 Car Raffle this Saturday night in the OLSC Sports Hall. It would be great to have as many of our families attending.
