Playgroup B | August 2018

Dear Parents,

Warm greetings once again. We are on our 3rd month with the children.

This month the Playgroup children are learning about Animal world. Children

were introduced to Farm, Wild Animal and Pets. We have planned many fun

activities again with the start of this month of August. Here are some of the

photos of our school activities which the children had done.

BRAIN TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Brain Training is an important part of Spring Brainy Kidz curriculum and we introduce brain training for the children at the start of every lesson at a fast speed to stimulate the right brain which is subconscious and intuitive that takes in information quickly. Children are exposed to the cards on a daily basis to inculcate the appropriate behaviour and mannerisms as well as train to absorb information at a quicker speed.

Children were introduced to the letter ‘k’. The sound of the letter was introduced to them as well. Children used ice cream sticks to create letter ‘k’.

本月的课程主题是《动物》，老师是根据《动物》的主题开展课程活动，使用闪卡教学模式，教幼儿认识动物的种类。

Children were introduced to numbers 1 – 3. Children were given flash cards with numbers on them. Children will count using their fingers through the guidance from the teachers. Encouraging children to use their fingers to count will help these little ones to build strong mathematical knowledge by making math visual and giving it meaning beyond the abstract concepts of numbers and symbols.



AESTHETIC & CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Children had opportunities to explore with paint for art and materials to create animal. Children’s creativity is encouraged so as to get them to be expressive with their emotions and build self confidence.

In this activity children are supposed to cover the fish with coloured paper to give the fish a scaly covering. Children pasted coloured papers and coloured the fish. This activity also helps the children in their fine motor skills.

We celebrated

National with the

children. Our little ones

get all dressed up in

red and white.

Children learned the

importance of why

National day has been

celebrated.

Our SBK children gave

out our Singapore flags

to the neighbourhood.

The event ended with

singing, dancing,

taking photos and

cake cutting by

celebrating our

nation’s 53rd birthday.
