MR & MRS ROACH | OUR STORY [5] FORWARD By: Taminko Jones Kelley Owner of CoolBird Marketing, LLC Sometimesyouhavetogointotheentanglementandpulloutwhatyou need A small spider simultaneously captured my attention and its prey as I sat in a rocking chair on my aunts front porch under the blue Carolina skies.Abouttheexacttime,Iwasponderingonathoughtprovokingandlife changing question posed in Part 2 of this book.In the midst of my pondering, I escaped the intended thought to focus on thespiderasit continued to tangle itsverymuch alive prey in itsweb. I began to wonder if I was going to see the prey unwind itself.As I purposed my focus on the captivity, my highlighter (that I really needed) rolled from the left side of my lap, down the middle smack into another what seemed tobeasomewhatdated spiderweb adjacent to the rockingchair; it was connected to the house and the small glass table on the porch.My much needed highlighter rested gently on the porch allwell, webby.MR & MRS ROACH | OUR STORY [6] Iwatchedmyonlyhighlighterrollintothespiderwebandthought Ewww, I dont want to reach my hand in that web. And then God spoke.Itsfunnybecauseafterprayingforseveraldaysfortheprecisewords neededtodeliverthejustrightmessagetosolidifytheintentofthis book, He used the word entanglement along with a couple of diagrams tohelpme understand what I would be saying and how I should say the intended message.Before I continue, I want to thank my husband Terrance Kelley, of whom I have been married to for 11 years for allowing me to be candid. About a year ago, (like other married coupleswho have reached a bump intheirmarriage)Iwanted adivorce frommyhusband. Time surpassed andmythoughtschanged.Wemovedontothenextchapterofour marriage of what my husband entitled as Starting Over.A year passed, and some other issues arose to the surface and I found myself chanting the same words and I said to myself that I have just had all that I could take.I had grown spiritually and I desired for my husband to grow at the same steady pace as I had grown.But, my husband was not quite there yet and he not being there with me spiritually raised a lot of concerns for me as awifeduetosomelifechoicesanddecisionsthat hehadmade. Several monthsprior,myhusbandandIreceivedaninvitationtoattendhis cousinsweddingin North Carolina, and a couple of monthsafter that I connected with the authors of this book, James and Natasha to conduct the proofreadingandediting.They briefedmeon the book, but never went into explicit detail of the contents.After, discussing the project I printed the manuscript and started the proofing.As I began reading Part I of the MR & MRS ROACH | OUR STORY [7] book,myperspectiveonlife,love,spiritualityandmarriagebeganto entangleitselfwithJamesandNatashasperspective.Ievenbegan thanking God for setting up and ordaining the instances leading towards this opportunity as James nor Natasha had no idea of my personal matters. However, during the perspective entanglement I found my perspective hung in captivity just like the spiders prey, and facing my very dated web ofmaritalchallenges. See, just likethat datedweb that myhighlighter fell in, I didnt want to stick my hands into that web and grab what I really neededmy husband.He was covered in webs of fault and accusations, yet I needed to reach in and pick him up as much as he needed me to want to pick him up. In 1 Corinthians 7: 14 it says that the unbelieving husband issanctifiedbythewife,andtheunbelievingwifeissanctifiedbythe husband. And,in Matthew 7: 1 it saysjudge not, that ye be not judged.To sum it up, God used this book to reveal that my husband and I are one, and that when either of us notices each others weaknesses, we should be in heavy prayer and fasting.I also understand that no matter how strong I thinkIam, myhusband isstill the priest of my homeand prayer can go places I will never be able to enter.Inthisbook,Ilaughed.Icried.IponderedandIwasinadazeasI considered the wordsof James, and tested the words of Natasha.I went from desiring another divorce to starting sentences with my husband that beganlikeBabeletmeaskyousomething,andHowdoyoufeel aboutandWhat are your thoughtsabout. Thesearequestionsthat I havealwaysaskedhim,butthistimeitwasfromaJamesandNatasha perspective.MR & MRS ROACH | OUR STORY [8] Charging myself to respect my husband as the priest of our home instead ofanalyzingandmakingknownhisweaknessesinsidemyheartall stemmed from reading this book. I earnestly learned to think with him asuniquelydefinedbyJamesandtoldbyNatashainlaterchapters.I rediscovered that I have power in praying for my husband to make a sound decisioninwhatIconsiderlifechangingdestinations.Thisbookwill causeyoutopayspecialattentiontoyourspouseorspouse-to-bes thoughtsasamanorasawoman.JamesandNatashahavewillingly allowed God to use them to be open and honest as they led us inside their hearts and mind.Thisbookisonethatcarriesweightastheyhavemeasuredtheirentire relationshipwiththeWordofGod.Myspiritualfather,PastorBrian Thomas and my spiritual mother, Evangelist Shameka Thomas taught me that wordsare nothingifitsnotweightedwith the Wordof God.
