something
happens
magical
4 hours from Vientiane, a mere 150km away through bumpy and winding roads...
A left turn to a little dirt road leads to Phoudindaeng Youth Center
A patch of land, tiny mud houses and an open air cafe surrounded by lush trees, sun-washed skies and dark green mountains, steady melody of insects and birds. it may be just another village in Laos, or it may be very special...
exploring local
culture
Laos is imbued with traditional culture and way of life.
Its culture is its strength.
The deeply-rooted skills of lao people are important assets for their common future.
This story is about passing those skills from one generation to another. It is about living and expressing Lao culture through creative means.
Bringing the old and the new into one place.
we are
creative
We are all born creative and with plenty of imagination.
But creativity has to be nurtured in order to grow and stay alive.
Creative thinking is important because it makes the world a more interesting place.
it builds stronger communities and societies.
It empowers people through beauty and new possibilities.
This project was made possible through the collaboration of Phoudindaeng Youth Center, Atelier Loghouse, and Crafted.
