Our Uniform

From the Principal

The Aquinas College Uniform has helped establish our strong brand identity as a leading Catholic College within the Gold Coast community. Our uniform unites us not only in look but also in our sense of pride, whilst symbolising respect for the college’s history and traditions.

The college uniform design instils a sense of self-worth in our students and ensures their identity within the catholic community. Students wear the college uniform with pride as they strive to uphold the college’s values and beliefs.

Acceptance of enrolment at Aquinas College assumes an agreement between the parent/guardian and the enrolling student that the student will dress in accordance with the college’s Uniform Policy. It is of the utmost importance that students represent themselves and the college respectfully at all times, as our college reputation and brand is upheld through our uniform.

Each student is allocated to one of four Houses. Each House is divided into 11 Vertical Pastoral Care groups. The Vertical Pastoral Care (VPC) system aims to provide open communication between students, families and staff.

Whole school events such as the Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics Carnivals, all contribute to points for the House Trophy which is awarded at the Graduation Mass/Liturgy.

Our House System

CHISHOLM HOUSENamed after Caroline Chisholm.

The crest depicts the immigrant sailing ships that brought thousands of young women and their families to Australia. The hands symbolise the help she gave to all those she met regardless of their denomination of faith.

ROMERO HOUSENamed after Oscar Romero.

The crest depicts the image of a long and winding road which resonates with the prayer “The Long View” dedicated to Oscar Romero. The large and small hands symbolise the foundations that guide those less fortunate to a better life.

EDMUND RICE HOUSENamed after Edmund Rice

The crest depicts the cross of the Christian Brothers founded by Edmund Rice. The hands symbolise the guidance given by his teachings to the young and disenfranchised.

McAULEY HOUSENamed after Catherine McAuley.

The crest depicts the Mercy Cross which represents the Sisters of Mercy founded by Catherine McAuley. The comfortable cup of tea is a symbol of the warm and caring relationship which were at the heart of Catherine McAuley’s Mercy vision.

Our Accessories

10 Aquinas College

Uniform Shop Aquinas College operates an on-site uniform shop.Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 7.45am-11:30amWednesday: 7:45am-10:30am

Orders can be taken by e-mailing uniformshop@aquinas.qld.edu.au and including your credit card details or return phone number. Alternatively by phoning 07 5510 2882 during operating hours or Faxing 07 5510 2808 if preferred.

Students can visit the uniform shop before school or in first break to collect items or try on sizes.

Year 7 students are fitted for uniforms in September prior to starting. Uniforms are collected along with Stationery Packs in November.

Year 9 students order Blazers, Senior Shirts and Blouses late in Term 3. Uniforms are to be collected by the end of Term 4 and Blazers in March/April the following year.

Year 10 students collect their pre-ordered Blazers in March/April in preparation for Term 2. Boys purchase long pants and ties in Term 1 ready for the first day of Term 2.

Tracksuits are sold as separates and can only be worn on sport’s day, Thursday, and are not compulsory. The College jumper can be worn at any time, including under the blazer if required.

Second Hand Uniforms are sold throughout the year, articles must be clean and blazers dry cleaned and remain in the plastic.
