Jacksonville Elementary PTA Volume 4 Issue 4, November 5, 2015
Dear Jacksonville families and staff,
Entering this Thanksgiving season, I am very grateful to be a part of such a wonderful
school community. I look forward to celebrating AMERICAN EDUCATION WEEK,
NOV. 16-20, to honor the excellent work of our students and educators and to visit JES
classrooms in action. As we reflect on all we have and think of those in need, our
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE and HOLIDAY PRESENT DRIVE are great ways to share time
and resources while showing our children the value in giving and sharing. This community
is always incredibly generous and your efforts are deeply appreciated.
With gratitude and warm wishes for a happy Thanksgiving,
Whitney Leber, PTA President Email: [email protected]

JES PTA OUTREACH - continued
HOLIDAY PRESENT DRIVE: November 25th – December 17th
Benefiting JES, Hawthorne Elementary, and Hereford Food Bank THREE GREAT WAYS TO GIVE THIS YEAR! Choose the one that works best for you. 1. Donate any unwrapped new toy for a school-aged child. Place in the Present Drive bin in the school lobby. 2. Fill a Child’s wish: Take a wish tag off of our holiday tree. Purchase the item and return to the bin in the lobby.
Please be sure to tape the tag to the unwrapped gift. 3. Purchase a gift card. This is the easiest way to give. Simply place a gift card of any amount or a monetary
donation (checks only - payable to JES PTA) in the Outreach mailbox in an envelope marked “Holiday Present Drive”. These gift cards will be distributed to families in need right here in Jacksonville.
Gifts must be returned by 12/17. We only ask that you be as generous as you can. This is a great way to give back this holiday season, so involve your kids and teach them the true spirit of giving. Thank you in advance for supporting this drive and making the holidays truly merry! Any Questions/Want to help? Contact Alicia Matesa [email protected] or Jay Weiner [email protected]
** Also look for our Mitten, Hat & Sock Tree – December 1st to 17th in the Lobby **
