Cambridge Options at OvertonThe Cambridge program at Overton is flexible and allows students to tailor their program of study to their own needs and goals. Some students may choose to take only one or two Cambridge courses during high school. Others may take four or five each year. Others may seek to earn the prestigious Cambridge AICE Diploma. We encourage all students to consider Cambridge courses as they plan their academic paths and register for classes each year.

9 th Grade: Cambridge is open to any 9th grader willing to take on the challenge of honors level, college-preparatory work. Students may take up to five IGCSE level courses including English, Math, World History, Biology, and Spanish in addition to other courses or electives they may choose.

10 th Grade: During registration for the 10th grade year, rising sophomores will select an academy and an elective focus pathway that will help them focus their studies in preparation for college and/or careers after high school. Academy options at Overton include Health Science, Information Technology, Engineering, and Interdisciplinary Research.

Cambridge courses are available to students regardless of the academy they choose.

10th-12th graders may continue taking IGCSE level courses, and they have the option of taking AICE courses, as well.

Advanced International Diploma Pathway (AIDP)Students seeking the most challenging college-preparatory path may choose the Advanced International Diploma Pathway (AIDP) in the Academy of Interdisciplinary Research. These students take courses in pursuit of the AICE Diploma as well as a third year of a world language and A-level Global Perspectives & Research. This pathway is designed to open opportunities to study, to live, and to work in a global community that recognizes and values people, ideas, and perspectives from around the world.
