• Ball manufactures over 100 million recyclable aluminum cans every day.

• Benefits of recycling aluminum cans: reduces air pollution by 95% and saves 90% of the energy required to make a can from aluminum ore.

• If each person recycled one aluminum can each month, over 3,000 gallons of gas would be saved.

• Recycled aluminum is identical to smelted aluminum, except for one thing: it takes only 1/20 of the energy to make it. Less energy means reduced greenhouse emissions. And like few other materials in the recycling chain, aluminum recycles over and over again.

Laser is about 1/2 the cost of ink jet printing per page printed.

Remanufactured ink jet & toner cartridges are significantly cheaper than new.

Rechargeable batteries v. alkaline batteries: use of rechargeables will result in a significant cost savings and there is a closed loop system for recycling rechargeable batteries.

• Incinerating 10,000 tons of waste creates one job; landfilling 10,000 tons of waste creates six jobs; recycling 10,000 tons of waste creates 36 jobs.

• Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to run a television for three hours – or the equivilant of a half gallon of gasoline.

• In 2007, recycling helped Missourians to divert 47% of all waste away from landfills.

• Each ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, and three cubic yards of landfill space.
