Fuelvac® is the perfect solution to protect and monitor damaged and corroded storage tanks. A major problem in the industry.

Fuelvac® is a solvent free double skin tank lining system, providing 24/7 inspection free Class 1 vacuum leak detection monitoring of the storage tank. Class 1 is the highest and most reliable class of monitoring available. The integrated vacuum monitoring alerts the operator when an internal or external breach to the tank occurs, bringing an innovative dimension to storage tank repairs and tank corrosion protection.

Fuelvac® utilises an interstitial space (a space between two objects or structures) between two layers of resin. The interstitial space is developed to maintain an open flow of air and fluids even when compressed.

Due to the solvent free coating application, Fuelvac® provides indefinite protection for the storage tank.

Corrosion protection and monitoring for storage tanks

A breach to either the lining inside the tank or from external corrosion will cause an immediate alarm, notifying the operator. Preventative measures can then be taken before a leak occurs.

Can be installed in above and below ground tanks of any size.

PROCESS OF APPLICATION

1 – SURFACE TREATMENTTank interior is grit blasted to SA2.5 standard to clean the steel and provide a profile for coating application.

3 – ALUMINIUM FOIL ADHESIVE LAYERAluminium Foil is layered to close off the interstice, which will have already been installed onto the single skin.

2 – FIRST LAYER OF SOLVENT FREE COATINGA single skin solvent free coating is applied once any repairs have been made after blasting. This provides the first level of protection. 1,000+ microns of product can be applied in a single application.

4 – FIBREGLASS CLOTH LAYEROn top of the foil a layer of fibreglass is installed to add strength. Two different size and weights of fibreglass cloth are used to provide extra strength to the system and to give a good, clean surface to spray the final solvent free coating layer over.

5 – QUICK INSTALL OF NON-HAZARDOUS MATERIALSAll materials that make up the double skin interstice are manufactured on rolls ready for quick install.

7 – MONITORING EQUIPMENT

The system is fully monitored utilising vacuum technology. Should a breach occur, either internally or externally, the vacuum level in the interstitial space will drop causing the system to enter alarm mode. Various process control systems can be used, including remote monitoring of multiple tanks if required.

WELD SEAM MONITORING

Monitors a structures vital welds and acts as an early warning indicator, allowing operators time to investigate before a catastrophic failure of the structure occurs.

Any structure that suffers the potential for stress and fatigue will benefit from a Weld Seam Monitoring System. The system is quick to install; welds are cleaned, MPI is performed to check for fractures, a coating is then applied, materials installed and the system is finally linked to a monitoring instrument to provide feedback to the operator.

This makes it possible to monitor the pipeline in sections, allowing quick and easy location of problem areas. PIPEVAC® can be a useful tool in aiding maintenance and inspection programs.
