Promote and structure the participation of third countries in the activities of FP7.

Promote regional integration as well as identification and the prioritization of common research areas of mutual interest and benefit.

Facilitate the uptake and use of common identified research areas and the monitoring of performance and impacts of international S&T cooperation across the Specific Programmes of FP7.

The INCO-NET projects can help to establish balanced partnerships, including multiple international stakeholders (partners from research, industry, government and civil society) for research actions.

A Network for the Coordination and Advancement of Sub-Saharan Africa-EU Science & Technology Cooperation

Developed as a high-level platform, financed by the European Union's FP7, to advance international cooperation between Europe and Africa for mutual benefit.

CAAST-Net's goal: Increase quality and quantity of bi-regional cooperation in S&T between Europe and Africa, targeting areas of mutual interest and benefit through greater use of instruments under the FP7.

21 COUNTRIES IN AFRICA AND EUROPE, including Turkey, Egypt, Cap Vert, Senegal, Kenya, Madagascar, Ghana, Uganda, Rwanda, Botswana, Nigeria….

European 7th Framework Programme. ERA-NETS.

Coordination of national research programmes in specific areas, usually within the EU members and associated countries, but they are also open to third countries.

INCO-Programme.

Geographic Era-Nets, alike Inco-nets, promote and structure the participation of third countries in the activities of FP7. Associated calls.

Thematic ERA-Nets

The aim of Era-Nets is the coordination of national research programmes to build the ERA. The ERA-NET projects establish balanced partnerships, and make it possible the launching of MULTILATERAL CALLS. National funding of the projects.

- General Assembly in Malta, with Med countries - ENVI-Med: Call for networking projects, open to other countries

AN INTERDISPLINARY METAPROGRAM of OBSERVATION and RESEARCH DEDICATED to THE MEDITERRANEAN

Seven AXES

- HyMeX (Hydrological cycle in the Mediterranean eXperiment)

- MerMeX (Marine Mediterranean eXperiment) focused on the biogeochemical changes that will take place in the Mediterranean Sea.

- ChArMEx(Chemistry-AerosolMediterranean eXperiment) to evaluate current situation of the Mediterranean basin atmospheric environment and to anticipate its future development and its impact on regional climate, air quality and marine biogeochemistry.

Background Meetings of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership & Monitoring Committee for the Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation in RTD: MoCo. Ministerial conferences.

- Barcelona Declaration and Euro-Mediterranean partnership in 2005 included cooperation in Science and Technology - Compromise of High Education and Research of the First Euro-Med Ministerial Conference, Cairo 2007 - Union for Mediterranean launched in 2008 considered research as one of the 6 axis of cooperation - Euro-Mediterranean Renewed Partnership in R&I based on Art. 185 was one of the Conclusions of Euro-Mediterranean Conference on Research and Innovation, held in Barcelona on 2-3 April 2012, - 16th MoCo () meeting Brussels 21-22 June 2012 - The launch of an ERANET for the Mediterranean area by the EC (10 July 2012) -17TH MoCo meeting, Malta 20th November 2012: advance for art. 185.
