• Purchase a new or demonstrator Ford vehicle from a participating dealer, sign up and pay the enrolment fee and you’re in.

• Now you’re eligible to access a Ford 2nd Car vehicle as your 2nd car for two weeks (or two groups of one week).

• These weeks are known as Journey Credits, and you can use the credits within 2 years from the date you took delivery of your new vehicle.

• A couple of things you need to know:

• To drive one of these Ford 2nd Car vehicles you must be fully licensed and over the age of 25.

• This program is available to private, blue, silver and gold business fleet customers and the 2nd Car membership must be in the name of an individual.

• All reservations are handled through the Ford 2nd Car booking website www.ford.com.au/ford2ndcar/login/. Login to the site and:

• Select the Ford 2nd Car you want to borrow (models available in the program include Ranger, Everest, Escape, Transit, Endura, Focus (pending availability));

• Decide when you want to book it (subject to availability);

• Choose the dealership you want to pick it up from and return it to*.

*Note: not all dealers will have Ford 2nd Car vehicles available under this program.

• You may need to make an additional payment depending on which Ford you own and how many Journey Credits you use. Our fee table is available at www.ford.com.au/ford2ndcar/.

• You’ll also need to make sure you understand how to look after your Ford 2nd Car vehicle and what you are responsible for, by reading, understanding and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions. Overleaf you’ll find a summary of these, and the full version is also available at www.ford.com.au/ford2ndcar/ or from your dealer.

• On the day of your 2nd Car pickup, you or your Nominated Driver arrive at the dealership. There you’ll meet your 2nd Car Co-ordinator. They’ll record the driver’s identity with their licence, and take photos of the car, odometer and fuel reading.

• Then it’s Ford 2nd Car vehicle time, whether you’ve borrow a car for excitement or usefulness we hope you have a great journey.

• When you’re done, return your Ford 2nd Car vehicle to the dealership at the agreed time with a full tank.

• Once again, your 2nd Car Co-ordinator will be there to photograph your Ford 2nd Car vehicle to ensure it’s returned in the same condition as we gave it to you.̂

• Hand over the keys and that’s it.

^Note: Depending on how the car is returned you may be liable for damage, excess mileage or fuel charges.

Membership rules 1. Your membership is a contract between Ford

and you, with your Dealer acting as our agent.

2. Membership is available to Private customers or Blue, Silver and Gold Business Fleet customers on the purchase of a new or demonstrator Ford from a participating dealer.

3. If you’re a Blue, Silver or Gold Business Fleet customer, you will be signing up to the membership as an individual on behalf of the business.

4. An enrolment fee of $500 (incl. GST) is payable at sign up. If you find that you never use this service, you are entitled to a refund for up to a year after the membership ends.

5. All members get two Journey Credits, that means the right to access a Ford 2nd Car vehicle for two weeks, or two groups of one week. This will sometimes include a further affordable fee.

6. If you use your Journey Credit for less than a week, it still counts as a full Journey Credit.

7. Your membership continues for two years from the date your new Ford was delivered to you.

8. If you are under 25 and/or not fully licensed, you won’t be able to drive a Ford 2nd Car vehicle supplied under this program.

9. Ford 2nd Car vehicles are not available from all Ford Dealers. The Ford 2nd car website will list dealers with available Ford 2nd Car vehicle.

What you are responsible for1. During your journey, you are wholly and solely

responsible for the Ford 2nd Car vehicle.

2. If you allow other Drivers to drive it, you are completely responsible for ensuring they are fully licensed and over the age of 25 and that they comply with all of the Program terms and conditions. Choose wisely!

3. Not surprisingly, there’s a variety of “must do’s”. Highlights include, you must: 1) maintain our Ford 2nd Car vehicle in a clean and tidy condition; 2) comply with all road rules; 3) keep it locked and secure when not in use; 4) ensure it is properly and safely parked.

4. Likewise, there’s a variety of “must NOTs”. Highlights of these include, you must not: 1) smoke in our Ford 2nd Car vehicle; 2) alter our Car in any way; 3) use it for a prohibited use.

5. The “Prohibited Use” Clause (See 1.32 in the T&Cs) has 12 key detailed items. These include: 1) driving under the influence; 2) driving in a dangerous manner; 3) being driven in any form of racing (there’s a big clause around this one).

6. There are many things you will be responsible for doing if you have an accident. For example, you will need to notify us and maybe even the police.

Costs you are or may become responsible for1. At the time of booking you may have to pay a

rental fee. This fee is calculated based on the car you bought and how many Journey Credits you are using. You can see the fees at www.ford.com.au/ford2ndcar/ or ask your dealer.

2. You are responsible for all fuel costs and fuelling it correctly: Mustang: 95RON petrol Ranger/Everest/Transit/Escape/Endura: Diesel Focus: 95RON or E10 petrol We give it to you full of fuel and expect it back the same, otherwise we will need to charge you at $2.50 per litre for refuelling it.

3. You are responsible for the payment of all road usage tolls, fines and infringements that occur during your journey, (regardless of who was driving).

4. You may become liable for other fees or costs, such as late return fees, excess mileage (over 1500km per week), or in the event of damage or loss.

5. We will email you, letting you know of the fees you incurred and unless you dispute them, you agree that we may debit your Credit Card for all additional fees.

6. Damage and loss is a big deal and is mainly covered in Sections 5, 6 & 7 of the T&Cs. This includes damage to the car but can also

include damage to third party property. For example, if you are in a two car accident and cause damage to another car. In a nutshell, you will be liable for Damage and loss up to the Damage Contribution Fee which is set at $2000. However, where the damage or loss was caused by a Serious Breach (like using the car for a Prohibited Use), you will be liable for the loss or damage in full, which may be more than $2000.

7. Also, you will be liable for tyre and/or wheel damage in full (See clause 1.42 and 1.43 for full definitions). To put it in perspective, for a fitted replacement front tyre the cost is approximately $450, while a fitted replacement rear tyre is approximately $500. So please don’t abuse our Ford 2nd Car vehicle’s feet!

Key Facts about Ford 2nd Car vehicles

1. Using MyKey technology, our Ford 2nd Car vehicle keys have been programmed to: 1) force on the Electronic Stability Control (ESC); 2) for Mustang, we will disable the Track Mode feature.

2. Our Ford 2nd Car vehicles are fitted with an In Vehicle Monitoring System which tracks and records the geographical location of the Ford 2nd Car vehicle during every journey.

3. Our Ford 2nd Car vehicles are covered by roadside assistance. If you need it, call 1800 13 FORD. Don’t try any home repairs.

When you use our booking site to make your reservation, we will again request you to read, understand and agree to the T&Cs. We want to ensure every member has a fantastic road trip in our Ford 2nd Car vehicles, but for that to occur, we need all our customers to play by the rules so we can deliver the Ford 2nd Car vehicles in the best possible condition, on time, every time.
