Please note that if MCAT 2015 is written the MCAT 2015 scores will be used in evaluation.

Prerequisite Courses:

An AGPA is calculated based on undergraduate university degree level courses including those taken in a spring or summer session and during part-time studies.

MCAT:

• The Admissions Committee has minimum standards for score results. Eligible applicants must have scored a minimum of 7 in each of the VR, PS and BS sub-tests and a minimum of M on the WS in a single session (if applicable). The WS will be converted on a scale where M=7, N=8, O=9, P=10, Q=11, R=12, S=13 and T=14.

• There are no exceptions. • Given the recent introduction of MCAT 2015, minimum eligible scores have not

been established. The total score will be used in the composite score calculation.

Prerequisite Courses:

Biochemistry. Minimum of 6 credit hours (full year or two academic terms) completed in Biochemistry at the university degree level with minimum grade of C in each course. Courses must be complete and a grade assigned no later than June 30, 2016. Biochemistry courses must be completed at a second year level or higher learning. Introductory biology, chemistry and organic chemistry are not acceptable equivalents.

Humanities/Social Sciences. Credit hours completed in the Humanities/Social Sciences. Applicants with a BSc (General) or BA (General) must complete 18 credit hours in humanities/social sciences. Applicants who complete a 4 Year Major or Honours program may waive up to 12 credit hours of the humanities/social sciences prerequisite.

MCAT: All applicants to the MD Program are required to write the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) prior to, and within five years of, the application deadline date and must release their scores to OMSAS by November 1st of the application year.

Admissions: Entry to medical school is on the basis of competition for a fixed number of places. The Admissions Committee takes account of an applicant's academic background, performance on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and information on an applicant's personal characteristics and achievements as given by the applicant, by referees' reports and, in some cases, by personal interviews.

Applicants need to be aware of the policy related to Essential Skills and Abilities Required for the Study of Medicine.

Prerequisite Courses:

Schulich Medicine no longer has prerequisite courses. A mixture of biological/medical science courses and social science/humanities courses is recommended.
