The Durham Manufacturing Company was founded in 1922 and has developed into one of the leading producers of metal and plastic products for packaging, storage, organization of maintenance products and are an integral component of “Vendor Managed Inventory” programs in the OEM and MRO sectors.

Headquartered in Durham, Connecticut, our plants are state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities totalling over a quarter million square feet of manufacturing and distribution.

Our production is centered around high speed, precision fabrication using automated stamping, forming, welding, degreasing and powder coating of sheet and coil steel. Many operations include the use of CNC and robotic equipment. We have fully adopted the principles of lean manufacturing.

Add to this, a multi-machine plastic injection molding installation and complete in-house capability in silk screening and a variety of color choices.

WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO, HOW WE DO IT...

In 2003, we acquired the assets of Hodge Manufacturing Company which was established in 1936. The Hodge brand and product is now integrated into our company and its manufacturing facility is located in Springfield, MA.

The Hodge line of heavy duty, all welded, non-powered material handling equipment and storage products include; Racks, Shelving, Work Benches, Carts, Trucks, Storage and Bin Cabinets, Maintenance, Flammable Storage and Safety products. The plant has been significantly renovated since the acquisition with the installation of a powder paint line, coil fabrication and CNC equipment.

Frick Gallagher, founded in 1933 ceased operations in Lancaster, Ohio in 2004. At that time, we purchased three of their major brands and exclusive rights to the Frick Gallagher name.

Rotabin® Revolving Shelves, Storack® Bulk Shelf Systems and Plasti-Bilt® Shelf Bins are all manufactured by us and are complementary additions to the Durham line of storage products differentiated only by the fact that they are marketed under the Frick Gallagher name as Durham brands.

All shipments are made FOB Warehouse, either our main facility in Wallingford, CT, or satellite warehouses in the U.S. (*Please see page 5). Shipments from our Staffordshire facility are shipped freight pre-paid to customers in England. Because of our freight volume, we receive deep discounts from a wide range of large national carriers. Customers are invited to contact our Inside Sales Department (1 800 243-3774) and discuss how they may take advantage of discounted freight. Small package service is available utilizing UPS or FedEx

Freight Policy & Terms

All possible care is taken to ensure safe, damage free shipment by truck or UPS. Special, individual cartons have been designed for every SKU we offer. Depending on the size, shape and weight of the product, corrugated is selected by ECT (Edge Crush Test) values of 32 lbs., 44 lbs. or 48 lbs pounds per inch. Bursting Strength is 200 lbs. minimum which is assured by the use of two

42 lb. liners in every carton. Foam corners, Sus-Wrap and bubble pack are used wherever applicable. Palletized shipments are shrink wrapped. Special requirements for carton identification can be met; part numbers or bar coding.

The Durham Manufacturing Company warrants that, at time of shipment, the products manufactured by Durham are free from defects in material and workmanship. Durham’s obligation under this warranty is limited to replacement or repair of such products within one year from the date of shipment. No material is accepted for replacement or repair without the written authority of Durham. A decision as to whether a defective product will be replaced or

repaired will be made only after an examination of the product at our plant. Durham is in no event liable for consequential damages, installation costs or other costs of any nature as a result of the use of the products manufactured by Durham, whether used in accordance with the instructions or not. This warranty is in lieu of all others, either expressed or implied. No representative is authorized to assume for Durham any other liability in connection with Durham’s products.

The terms are net 30 days for all companies with approved credit. To establish credit, submit one bank and

three trade references. Credit can also be established on a satisfactory Dunn & Bradstreet Rating.

Returned goods will not be accepted without a Return Authorization Number which can be obtained by calling Inside Sales. All returns must be shipped back in the original cartons and packing material, freight prepaid.

All returns are subject to a 25% restocking charge. Custom or modified items are non-returnable.
