What is it? A group of countries that provide a forum (place) for nations to discuss their problems with each other without war.

Who opposed it? Conservatives- especially Senator Henry Cabot Lodge

Why? Afraid it would draw America in to future wars. Most Americans wanted to be isolationist again

U.S. never joins the League of Nations ~ it is very unsuccessful!
