Undergraduate Application PacketThe enclosed application packet is for all new freshmen, transfers, former transfers, transients, former transient students and veterans. Applicants are encouraged to apply online at www.ysu.edu/admissions. If you are a former student or veteran please follow the procedures below.

NEW APPLICANT—has a high school diploma or passed the General Education Development (GED) test and has not attended a college or university. Note: those applicants who have attended college while in high school are considered new students and must make arrangements to have official transcript(s) sent directly to the Office of Admissions.

TRANSFER APPLICANT—regardless of length of attendance, previously attended another college or university after graduating from high school or completing a GED.

TRANSIENT APPLICANT—currently enrolled at another college or university, is in good academic standing, is eligible to return to that college or university, and wishes to attend YSU for one semester only.

FORMER TRANSIENT APPLICANT—a former YSU student currently enrolled at another college or university, is in good academic standing, is eligible to return to that college or university, and wishes to return to YSU for an additional semester. You do not need to pay the $45 application fee.

FORMER AND TRANSFER STUDENT—previously attended YSU for credit, attended another college or university before coming back to YSU, regardless of length of attendance. You do not need to pay the $45 application fee.

FORMER STUDENT—previously attended YSU for credit and has not attended another college or university since leaving YSU. You must complete the Undergraduate Admission Application for Re-Admission, available by contacting the Records Office at 330-941-3182 or print the application at www.ysu.edu/records, click on Admission Services. If you were academically suspended, you must be reinstated. Consult the dean’s office of the college from which you were suspended to make an appointment to be reinstated.
