SLIDE RAIL SHORING SYSTEM

In addition to conceptual novelties Primax slide railshoring systems come with lighter but stronger components for easier manipulation and transportation.

A UNIQUE PANEL WHILE USING PARTIAL CONNECTIONS For thefirst time, partial locking connections apply for both, inner and outershoring walls minimizing resistive forces during installation and removalwhile increasing the safety by preventing the panel of inner wall to kick-inthe trench. A unique panel design applies for both outer and inner shoringwalls. Thus, no more headaches which, where or how many panelsare outer or inner.Very light and user friendly rail posts having a single panel guide only, arealso available for both linear or corner rail posts to be used in relativelyshallow applications combining same panels and strutting assemblies asregular rail posts (US Pat. 7,309,191).

PANELS THAT SWING Shoringpanels access the rail post at ground level. Each panel just simplyswings into outer guide of rail post. For the inner wall, the panelmerely enters from the front side of the rail into inner guide to slidewithin. This is valid for both linear and corner rail posts. The guide ofthe inner shoring wall is half way of the rail post easing the insertionand removal of shoring panels respectively into and from the ground.In addition, the weight of the rail post is consequently reduced whileits strength is highly concentrated at the cantilever.

REMOVABLE CUTTING EDGEBy introducing unique panel design with removable cutting edge, PRIMAX have eliminated the

concept of top or base panels. Actually, each panel is a top or base panel by merely removing orfixing the cutting edge.

VERSATILE STRUTTING ASSEMBLY When itcomes to the spreaders Primax brings a

multitude of solutions and other novelties byintroducing versatile articulated strutting assembliesproviding a very big pipe culvert even when placed atend position. Equipped with rollers at upper and lowerends, the strutting assemblies are vertically mobileaccommodating various pipe culverts withoutinterfering objects underneath. Various struttingassemblies are availabe: rigid and articulated. Byusing pinned connections for their members, thearticulated strutting assembly could take theconfiguration best adapted for application whileproviding other unique advantages, such as:- Equal distribution of the load onto the rollers.- Quick expansion of the strutting members.

Introduction of new and versatile strutting assembly sliding between opposite rails is another simplifyingtechnique of making a strut frame. This mono-spreader assembly extremely eases the crossing of twoor more of them for applications on pits having big or very big cross section. Adaptable in site condition,these strutting assemblies take advantage of their featured properties when it comes to any particularapplication by being, in addition, able to access or leave the rail post through either ends.

CORNER RAIL POST FOR HEXAGONAL OROTHER POLYGONAL PITS The novelties of PRIMAX are not limited in

MULTISTEP FOR CONFINED AREASA particular limitation of slide-rail systems has beenthe overhead obstacles such as cables, buildings orother objects in inner-city applications. AlthoughPRIMAX slide rail shoring systems allow to

swing the panels at ground level, it is impossiblehowever to use long rail post, for deep excavationswhen being inside a building or having very lowoverhead obstacles. Now, with PRIMAX it's

possible to shore even in these cases by introducingthe telescopic concept in the design of the rail posts.Short rail posts slide vertically relative to each othercreating thereby two or more shoring walls. Thisfeature notes the supremacy of these systems whenretrofitting exiting structures in inner-cityapplications. In this case, the strutting assemblyuses additional members acting simultaneously onthe upper and the lower rail posts. Also, othercustomized designs by PRIMAX allows for

using sliding shoring systems in tight andcumbersome circumstances. In addition, thetelescopic system allows the use of lightercomponents resulting on easier installation and removal of shoring. These components are compatiblewith other shoring systems creating a versatility of choice and applications (see below).

SLIDING SHORING SYSTEM WITHOUT RAILSPrimax comes to present a very new sliding

shoring system designed to be used in shallowexcavations up to16 ft deep. Ideal for inner cityapplications, this sliding shoring system discardsheavy and cumbersome rail posts; it uses only largeshoring panels and special strutting assemblies. Thestrutting assembly has a pair of short verticalmembers provided on either side with guides forsliding shoring panels. The shoring panels arearranged in pairs against opposite walls of the trench,and held vertically by adjacent strutting assembliesspaced apart lengthwise. Each strutting assembly hasat least one horizontal strut fastened in between thepair of vertical members. If needed, the horizontalstrut is hydraulically activated to exert pressure oneither shoring wall. Like the slide rail shoring, theSliding Strut Shoring is a “dig and push system”.

Assembled before or after excavating two or more feet of trench, the system is lowered down asexcavation progresses. What makes this shoring system more useful, and economically very efficient, isthe fact that it uses the same shoring panels as Slide Rail Shoring System. Also, lighter, single wallshoring panels ranging from 4 ft. to 1 ft. tall are available upon users request. Depending on theapplication, the vertical members of strutting assembly, when needed, are provided with rollers to easesliding of shoring panels (US Patent 7,056,068).

TRENCH SHIELD WITH SLIDING SPREADER Atrench shield provided with strutting assemblies allowingto adjust the spreaders at any level of the shoring wallsmeans “adjustable pipe clearance”, it means “no morecumbersome arches for big pipes and box culverts, or inboring pits”. Also, it means assembling and lowering thetrench shield within excavation while keeping the shoringwalls aplomb. Primax introduces a trench shield

that works both ways, as a sliding shore, dig and push,and as standard trench shield, pull inside the trench.Each shoring panel slide interlockingly withing the guidesof a adjacent strutting assemblies. Similarly to a slide railshoring system, the panels slide independentlydownward when digging within the shield. Whenrequired, the strutting assembly is hydraulically activated, to pressure the wall of the excavation. Thespreaders are secured at various heights of the shoring walls by special pins. Furthermore, special panelsdesigned to have reverse cutting edges at their top and bottom allow them to be used all ways, upsidedown, inside out, while their staking is extremely facilitated. However, the guides of the strutting assemblyare compatibly designed to the panels of slide rail shoring to allow these lasts to be used as trench shieldsas well. (US Patent 7,056,067).
