What are your responsibilities at Aligned? I oversee all aspects of mission-critical operations, uptime, safety and security at Aligned's hyperscale data center campus in Ashburn, VA. I also manage our IAD01 (and soon IAD02) operations team in ensuring 100% uptime, complete customer satisfaction and compliance with SLAs and audits. Why did you choose a career in data centers? There's no better line of work to be in if you're interested in innovation and technology. What attracted me to this industry is that we're always looking for ways to do things better and more efficiently for customers. Being at the forefront of driving change, especially at a company as dynamic as Aligned, is exciting. What is one of the most interesting aspects of your job? No two days are ever the same. The current global landscape and the demand in our industry force you to champion new solutions and think strategically every single day. I thrive on that dynamism and productivity. What values are important to you? Teamwork and integrity. You're only as good as the team you surround yourself with. What do you do for fun? When I can get away, you can find me racing at a local NHRA drag strip. My father got me into it and it's a great way to clear my head. What are some of your goals in working in this field? It's an exciting time to be in the industry and work for a company like Aligned. We’re mid-construction on our second building in Ashburn with others likely following close behind, as our growth is rampant. My goal is to continue to learn and grow in parallel with the Company. How has the current global landscape impacted your job? Agility and adaptiveness are at the core of what we do. So when the pandemic hit, we were able to pivot accordingly in order to ensure our operations were not impacted. We have anywhere from 400 to 700 people on-site daily, so we’ve implemented new safety measures, screening checkpoints and sanitation procedures to keep our customers, staff and partners safe and healthy when on-site. alignedenergy.com
