Cauet makes his return to the National men’s teams’ set-up as the Head Coach, after his role as Assistant Coach in 2002 with the Senior team which competed in the CEV Championships in Andorra. Since then, he has coached professionally in France, most recently helping the AS Saint- Raphaël women’s team to the French National Championship title. On his return to Ireland, he has helped the UCD women’s team to the 2009 Association Cup Final. Indeed Cauet also has an extensive playing experience at different levels in France over 12 years, while he additionally enjoyed a successful spell on Irish shores, winning a winners medal and runners-up medal in the men’s 1 st Division with Portmarnock VC. New Head Coach Appointed

for Men’s Squads’ Programme

The VAI is delighted to announce that

Laurent Cauet has been appointed as Head

Coach for the Irish National Senior and

Junior Men’s Squads Programme.

Cauet makes his return to the National

men’s teams’ set-up as the Head Coach,

after his role as Assistant Coach in 2002

with the Senior team which competed in

the CEV Championships in Andorra. Since

then, he has coached professionally in

France, most recently helping the AS Saint-

Raphaël women’s team to the French

National Championship title.

…Why a Press Conference? It is rare that an Irish Volleyball Programme gets launched from a

Press Conference. Hence the current set-up behind the new

National Men’s Squads Programme explains why it has decided to

unveil its plans in such a forum.

Personnel Needed for Senior and Junior Squads Junior and Senior panels now recruiting,

Coaching and Administrative personnel required also

The Senior team’s first training

session is currently being planned

to take place during/over an

upcoming weekend in late June or

early July in a Dublin venue.

Bearing this arrangement in mind,

we are currently recruiting players

that have an interest in being part

of the Senior team.

for either team, or perhaps

taking on a coaching or an

administrative role?

Q. Why a press conference?

A. The conference is seen as a

unique way of unveiling a

volleyball programme to the Irish

Volleyball Community, as

gathering together many from

within to view the programme

upfront will similarly attain their

collective views and their support.

Q. What format will the

conference take on?

A. The conference will be

opened with an introduction

of the current staff, a short

presentation detailing the set-

up, and finalised with how and

when the plan will unfold for

the squads.

Q. What is to be achieved

from the conference?

A. The higher-profile unveiling

will attract a unique interest

and anticipation from clubs,

players and coaches towards

the development of the

programme and its teams in

competition.

on Saturday June 20th

at 6:15pm in ALSAA, on the Swords Road beside Dublin Airport; Map >>

Announced will be the new coaching and administrative staff, along with the new programme and goals
