INTRODUCTION

Hello Students!

Colors are an important part of our every day. Colors are what makes every person unique and as a whole makes us and the world around us beautiful. Have you ever wondered the name of the color of your shirt? Or whether the color of your outfit is primary or secondary

TASK Find a group of 3- talk with your group about what

your favorite colors and why it is your favorite color. Pick if you want to be the RED, BLUE, or YELLOW

person and that will decide the task that you must do to contribute to learning all you can about the primary and secondary colors.

Then, as a team, find what primary colors mix together to make secondary colors.

After, with your group, discuss and decide what colors are the rainbow and what order they go in.

Finally, Answer the questions as a group. Your Group will share with

the class your results!!!!

RED [THE RECORDER] You are expected to write down what the color

became after mixing two together.

BLUE [The Mixer] You are expected to take the colors and mix them

together.

YELLOW [The Color Chooser] You are expected to choose the two colors to mix

together.

EVALUATION Students will be evaluated on how well they

communicate and work together in a group. Students will be evaluated in how well they

understand which colors are used to create another color.

Students will be expected to use creativity throughout the project.

Students should be comfortable with the what the primary colors are.

REFERENCES FOR FURTHER STUDY Read a book on colors and discuss the colors that are

included in the book (Recommended Reading: “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” By:

Bill Martin Jr./Eric Carle)

Go outside and paint a colorful picture of the world around us.

Draw and color/paint a picture of the rainbow. (every students will be different and unique!)

Take 20 minutes and journal every color that you see within that time period.
