Position: Small Business Administration (SBA) Business Development Officer Job Summary: Responsible for sourcing, acquiring and retaining profitable small business and middle-market commercial banking relationships with emphasis on SBA lending. This will include loans, deposits and ancillary products and services through active outside business development and sales efforts. Reports to: President & CEO Primary Responsibilities: · Profiles and analyzes commercial customer needs and proposes customized packages of financial products and services with emphasis on SBA lending. · Actively generates profitable commercial depository and cash management relationships. · Originates and closes commercial real estate and C&I loans. Meets with the customer; compiles documentation, financial information and supporting information; analyzes financial data to assess the credit worthiness of applicants; structures loan terms and proposed pricing consistent with the risk profile of the borrower; and makes sound recommendations to the approving authority within the bank. · Effectively manages the assigned loan portfolio in order to preserve its overall asset quality, safety and soundness. Ensures ongoing financial reporting and performance, and covenant requirements are met to ensure the high quality of the loan portfolio. Promptly and accurately identifies positive or negative trends relative to the financial capacity and credit worthiness of the borrowers and makes timely and appropriate loan grading and accrual status recommendations to the Chief Credit Officer. Proactively manages the loan portfolio to ensure timely processing of loan renewals and collection of delinquent accounts. · Provides a high level of customer service to commercial banking clients, responding promptly to their needs and providing consultative advice. · Participates in Community Reinvestment activities and participates in community and civic organizations at the direction of the Senior Lender; research and identify community credit needs; target and meet needs through product development and promotion. · Other duties and responsibilities as well as special projects that may be assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications: · Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline · Demonstrated SBA lending experience · Proficiency in both SBA 7a and 504 loan programs · Working knowledge of the SBA 50 10 5(e) SOP

· English proficiency, Spanish speaking preferred · Demonstrated knowledge of basis accounting principles · Minimum five years of commercial lending experience · Minimum two years of Denver market experience · Excellent business development skills · Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills · Ability to work in a fast-paced, high production environment · Experience with Microsoft Office and financial analytical software
