P: Jesus said: the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father
will send in my name, will teach you everything, and remind you of
all that I have said to you. John 14:26
Slide 4
P: Let us begin our Pentecost Worship today in the name of the
Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Slide 5
Let us pray... As the wind fills the sails of windmills in
paddocks which taps underground into stores of life-giving water;
So may the wind of Gods Spirit fill us and refresh us also.
Slide 6
As the fire renews the bush by bursting open the seeds of life;
so may the fire of Gods Spirit bring renewal to our lives.
Slide 7
Wind and fire, symbols of energy and power; Holy Spirit, source
of our energy and power, sweep into our lives this day, that we may
experience your refreshment, your renewal, your life. Amen

Prayer of Confession Let us pray
Slide 14
Prayer of Confession Merciful God, the gift of Jesus life in us
is visible in the way we witness to the fruitfulness of that gift.
We know that the fruit of the Spirit consists of love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and
self-control.
Slide 15
Yet, so often we put conditions on our love. And joy and peace
are difficult to discern when our words and actions deny their
presence. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and
right spirit in me
Slide 16
By desiring instant results to pretty well everything, we
confess that we forget what its like to be patient. We find
ourselves neglecting the needs of others because we run out of time
to be kind. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and
right spirit in me
Slide 17
When we persistently make self-centred decisions rather than
Christ-centred ones, our understanding of your goodness and
faithfulness is weakened, and our discipleship lacks credibility.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit
in me
Slide 18
In this aggressive world, its easy to believe one cant get
anywhere by exercising a spirit of gentleness or even self-control.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit
in me
Slide 19
Gracious and merciful God, grant us your forgiveness and your
love so that we may truly care for one another. Refresh and renew
us with the Holy Spirit so that we are fruitful and vital disciples
of Jesus Christ. Amen
Slide 20
Assurance of Forgiveness It is written in the Scriptures that
"Christ suffered for sins once, and for all, the righteous for the
unrighteous, in order to bring us to God. (1 Peter 3:18-19)
Slide 21
Therefore, in the name of Jesus Christ, your sins are forgiven
by God. This is God's gift to you through faith in Christ Jesus our
Lord. Praise be to God. Amen.
Slide 22
The Lord Be With You And also with you
Slide 23
L: (Let us pray for the power of the Holy Spirit) C: Almighty
and merciful God, you sent your Holy Spirit at Pentecost, making
the disciples bold to preach the good news.
Slide 24
C: Send us out with the power of the same Spirit to spread the
fire of your love. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
now and forever. Amen

Slide 30
L: Let us confess what we believe as together we say the
Apostles Creed ALL: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of
heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who
was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered
under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.
Slide 31
He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the
Father Almighty, from thence he will come to judge the living and
the dead.
Slide 32
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of
the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

COME, HOLY SPIRIT, COME (LH 127)
Slide 59
1Come, Holy Spirit, come, let your bright beams arise; dispel
the sorrow from our minds, the darkness from our eyes. 2Convince us
all of sin, then lead to Jesus' blood. And to our wondering view
reveal the secret love of God.
Slide 60
3Revive our drooping faith, our doubts and fears remove; and
kindle in our hearts the flame of never-dying love. 4Cheer our
despondent hearts, our comforter and guide; help us remain with
humble hope at our Redeemer's side.
Slide 61
5You search and cleanse the heart, you sanctify the soul, and
pour fresh life in every part, and new create the whole. 6Live
therefore in our hearts; lead us, with minds set free, to know and
praise the Father, Son and you eternally. Joseph Hart 1712-68,
alt.
Slide 62
I invite you to stand and pray with me the Offertory Prayer C:
Bless these gifts, O God, and bless us as we offer ourselves to
serve you in different ways and to praise you in many voices.
Slide 63
C: Send your Spirit upon us, that when we speak the word of
your love, people may hear and understand as on that Pentecost day
so long ago. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

LITANY TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Slide 65
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. O
Christ, hear us. Christ, graciously hear us.

O God the Father in heaven: O God the Son, redeemer of the
world: O God the Holy Spirit, comforter and sanctifier: Have mercy
on us.

Slide 68
From all sin and from all evil: From the crafts and attacks of
Satan: From uncleanness of mind or body: O Holy Spirit, deliver
us.
Slide 69
By your eternal procession from the Father and the Son: By your
working at creation: By your inspiration of the prophets: By your
descent upon the mother of our Lord at his incarnation: By your
descent upon our Lord at his baptism: By your descent upon the
apostles at Pentecost: By your continual presence with the church:
By your grace and pity in the day of judgment: O Holy Spirit,
deliver us.
Slide 70
That you would shine your light and love into our hearts: That
you would open to us the treasures of your grace: That you would
teach us to pray according to your will: That you would teach us to
pray, and also pray within us: That we may not grieve you or
despise you: That we may remember that our bodies are your temple
and be careful not to defile them:
Slide 71
That you would guide and direct all young people: That you
would heal the divisions between families: That you would heal the
sick: That you would reconcile all people to one another: That you
would lead us into all truth: That you would grant your unity to
the church: That you would grant your peace to the whole world: C:
O Holy Spirit, hear us.

your Holy Spirit on us. O Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the
world : Send down your Holy Spirit on us.

O Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world : Grant us
your Holy Spirit of peace. O Christ, hear us : Christ, graciously
hear us.

and transform us, so that we may serve our Lord Jesus Christ, who
lives and reigns with you and the Father, one God, now and forever.
