    The MASON - the catalyst of change emerged as the HERO.

    At the onset, there was a Housing Reconstruction project (Dec 2000

    Jun 2002) which lead to this Initiative

    SDC - UNDP then embarked on a long-term project (Jul 2002 Jun 2007)

    A rural family trying to build

    a house now finds in the local

    ASHG a one stop shopwherein all services

    (excavation, brick laying, roof

    casting, bar bending, carpentry

    works, electrical works,

    plumbing works painting etc.)

    are easily available

    This endeavour has been able to create 153 such locally empowered

    ASHGs facilitating easy access to housing by the rural poor.
