OPPORTUNITAS: The Promise of Pace is the motto of Pace:
Opportunitas. A remarkable array of living, learning and work-
ing opportunities await each student. This comprehensive
University offers five undergraduate schools and colleges and
more than 100 academic majors.
* THE FACULTY -- The faculty at Pace bring practical expe-
rience in a discipline or profession to their classroom teaching.
They know what it takes to succeed because they've experi-
enced success themselves. Professors pursue research in areas
that span the curriculum including business, accounting, biolo-
gy, communications, the natural sciences, health care, nursing,
computer science and education, among others.
* COOPERATIVE EDUCATION -- Take advantage of the
University's extraordinary Cooperative Education Program, the
largest and most comprehensive co-op program among four-
year colleges and universities in the New York City area. Each
year Pace places over 1,100 students in over 450 multi-nation-
al, national, regional, and local organizations. The opportunity
to apply classroom theory into hands-on professional settings
allows you to assess how you feel about a particular profession.
Also, you will gain a valuable competitive edge in the job mar-
ket. One-third of the co-op students receive job offers from
their co-op employers.
* OPEN HOUSE -- We invite you to visit the University and
form your own opinion of Pace. Talk to students, talk to profes-
sors, sit in on a few classes, meet with the Admissions staff and
tour the campus. During our Open House Days, you can get
your first taste of Pace's environment through personal contact
and first hand experience.
ONE UNIVERSITY - TWO CAMPUSES: No matter what
you are seeking in a college setting, you can find it at one of
Pace's two different locations. Whichever campus you choose,
you will also have the opportunity to take courses on the other
campus.
*PLEASANTVILLE/BRIARCLIFF -- About forty minutes
from the New York City campus, these two suburban loca-
tions, minutes apart, are administered as one campus. In addi-
tion to a serene setting, the campus is noted for its
Environmental Center and stables complete with horses, goats,
and geese. Tennis courts, outdoor basketball and sand volley-
ball courts and Willcox Gymnasium provide ample opportuni-
ties for athletics and recreation. In keeping with its commit-
ment to its students, community and quality campus life, Pace
completed construction of the new 75,000-square foot, 17 mil-
lion dollar Goldstein Health, Fitness and Recreation Center.
The campus offers many living options ranging from three new
townhouse complexes to seven residence halls.
* NEW YORK CITY -- The New York City campus, located
in lower Manhattan, offers the best of everything that makes
New York special. A short walk from Wall Street and the
famous South Street Seaport, our New York campus stands
across the street from historic City Hall. Nearby public trans-
portation makes commuting fast and easy. The 650-seat
Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, located on campus, is
the site of acclaimed student productions, concerts and per-
formers including the Joffrey Ballet, as well as the new home
of the celebrated National Actors Theater.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Students with a cre-
ative flair and a desire to communicate have no problem find-
ing an outlet; Pace sponsors two newspapers, two literary mag-
azines, two radio stations and two yearbooks. Plays, concerts,
and performances by professionals and amateurs also enhance
student life. There is also an active Student Government
Association on each campus.
The New York and Pleasantville campuses each spon-
sor several fraternities and sororities. While the emphasis is on
good times and bonding, these organizations also put their
energies to good work by sponsoring community service proj-
ects. Pace offers the opportunity to participate in athletics,
either varsity or intramural. The Setters compete in 17 varsity
sports in NCAA Division II.

2007-08 Season In Review
The 2007-08 Pace University Men's Basketball team fin-ished in fourth place last season earning a first round bye inthe Northeast-10 Conference Tournament. Pace finishedwith an overall record of 14-14 and 13-9 in the NE-10. TheSetters clinched back to back years of a first round bye inthe conference tournament with hopes of extending thatstreak to three years in a row this season.
The Setters, just as they did last season, got off to a slug-gish start posting a 3-5 record through their first eightgames. The rest of Pace's season would be one of streaksas they would win five of their next seven, drop six of sevenbefore closing out strong, winning five straight to clinch thefirst round bye. The Setters 13-9 mark in conference playclinched the fourth seed in the NE-10 Conference tourna-ment and a first round bye. Pace drew fifth seeded StonehillCollege in the quarterfinals. The Skyhawks would end theSetters season, in a 60-47 upset win over Pace.
Lost to graduation were the three leading scorers for theSetters a year ago in Ryan Williams, Gibraltar White, andDesmond Quincy-Jones. Williams finished his four-yearcareer playing in 117 games making 100 starts, while finish-ing with 1,892 career points, 402 career rebounds, 225career assists, and 340 made three point field goals.Williams ranks tied for second all-time at Pace in pointsscored, and first all-time in three pointers made in Pace his-tory.
The 2008-09 edition of the Pace University Men's Basketballteam will feature a group of a young but talented freshmanclass brought in by Head Coach Jim Harter. The Setters willhave to cope with the loss of 1000-point scorers in Williams,Quincy-Jones and White to graduation but return key play-ers like fifth year senior Maurice Douglas along with seniorRandy Wilson and junior guard Laurence McGhee. CoachHarter will look to take advantage of his team's youth andathleticism as the Setters will play an up-tempo offense andlook to press on defense. The Setters will also look to revi-talize their strong defensive play and battle it out with someof the top teams in the NE-10 this season.
The Backcourt
Junior McGhee returns as the starting point guard to theSetters lineup this year following a solid sophomore season. He led the team with over five assists per game, while aver-aging nine points a contest as the team's fourth best scorer.Coach Harter will rely on McGhee's experience last seasonto lead the young group of Setters with his court vision andleadership skills.
Also returning to the Setter lineup is junior Carlos Howard, who will play a prominent role for Pace this year. Last sea-son, Howard averaged four points per game, while knockingdown 29 triples. He has had a solid off-season and will lookto play an increased role in the Setters' lineup this year.
Another returner to the Setter back court is junior CallumJones. He has put together back-to-back solid seasons, averaging nearly four points per game. Jones will see anincrease in playing time this season and Coach Harter willrely on his good court instincts to play a major role for theteam this season.
Coach Harter added four talented freshmen to the Setterlineup this season with the additions of Adrian Mills, RyanWoods, Justin Alston and Joe McGovern. Mills has greatathleticism and strength for a guard. In high school, Mills
scored over 1,000 career points and was also named to theall-state team. Woods has all-around scoring talent, with theability to consistently knock down three-pointers but can alsodrive the lane and finish strong. He will see immediate play-ing time and will be expected to be a steady scorer for theSetters. Alston is a quality shooter and had excellent mid-range on his shots. He is a solid all-around athlete and willplay a key role for the Setters this season. McGovern isanother shooter to Coach Harter's talented backcourt and willalso see action this season.
The Frontcourt
Coach Harter returns a pair of experienced veterans to thefront court as seniors Maurice Douglas and Randy Wilson willbe mainstays in the Setter lineup this year. Douglas returnsfor the fifth year of action after being sidelined for most of lastyear with a knee injury. Douglas averaged just over fivepoints a game in five games played prior to his injury. TheSetters will rely on his leadership and wealth of experience toplay a major role in guiding the young Setter team this sea-son.
Also returning for the Setters is Wilson after finishing secondon the team in rebounding last year with nearly seven pergame. He also averaged over seven points per contest, whileposting s .485 shooting percentage. Wilson has worked hardin the off-season and will look to play an increased role inrebounding and scoring for the Setters this year.
Coach Harter recruited two outstanding freshmen will look topush for immediate playing time in a talented back court rota-tion. Delroy Daley is a tough and athletic player, who will seetime at the five spot this year. He is also has good defensiveskills and incredible footwork for a front court player. WesleyDunning is a solid all-around player, who should also see sig-nificant minutes this season. Dunning can step out and shootfrom long range but has the ability to post up and score in thepaint.

PACE UNIVERSITY SETTERS
Pace University enters its 12th season as a member of theNortheast-10 Conference.
The Northeast-10 is the fifth oldest conference in New England. It is older than the Division I Big East, America East and NortheastConferences, as well as Division III leagues including the NEWMAC,Little East, Commonwealth Coast, Great Northeast and North AtlanticConferences.
The Northeast-10 Conference consists of 15 teams in which eachteam plays 22 regular season games against conference opponents.
The top four teams earn a “bye” in the first round of the confer-ence playoffs while the #5-#12 seeds compete in play-in games to advanceto the quarterfinals.
The conference’s semifinals and championship game are playedat the highest seed of the four semifinal teams.
Pace University, American International College, AssumptionCollege, Bentley College, Bryant Univeristy, Franklin Pierce Univeristy, LeMoyne College, the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, MerrimackCollege, St. Anselm College, St. Michael’s College, the College of St. Rose,Southern Connecticut State University, Southern New HampshireUniversity and Stonehill College make up the Northeast-10 Conference.
The first NE-10 championship game was won by Stonehill, 74-68, over Springfield College, in 1981.
Currently in its third decade, the Northeast-10 Conference hasestablished itself as one of the premier all-around NCAA Division II con-ferences in the nation. The NE-10 is now the second largest Division IIconference in the country and is comprised of 15 institutions, six from theCommonwealth of Massachusetts, three each from New York and NewHampshire, and one each from Vermont, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
Founded in 1980 as the Northeast-7, the charter members wereAmerican International College, Assumption College, Bentley College,Bryant College, the University of Hartford, Springfield College andStonehill College.
Saint Anselm was admitted to the conference in 1981 andMerrimack joined the fold in 1984, replacing Hartford, now a Division Iinstitution. The conference expanded from eight to 10 teams with the addi-tion of Quinnipiac and Saint Michael's in 1987.
Springfield left the conference for Division III following thecompletion of the 1994-95 academic year. The conference returned to 10teams in 1996-97 with the addition of Le Moyne College and then expand-ed to 11 in 1997-98 with the inclusion of Pace University. In 1998-99, theconference reverted to 10 schools when Quinnipiac shifted its programs toDivision I.
The NE-10 expanded to 15 institutions beginning with the 2000-01 academic year, however without changing its name. The five new insti-tutions included: Franklin Pierce College, the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Southern New Hampshire University (formerly New HampshireCollege), the College of Saint Rose and Southern Connecticut StateUniversity.
In addition, the Northeast-10 Conference sponsors 23 champi-onships, the most of any NCAA Division II Conference, including: men'sand women's soccer, field hockey, volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, golf, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's and women's lacrosse, football, men's and women'sindoor & outdoor track & field, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, and men’s ice hockey.
The NE-10 Conference underwent another transition phase in2008 when they lost charter member Bryant University who moved up toDivision 1 joining the Northeast Conference. However, The NE-10 willwelcome in a new institution this season as New Haven University joinsthe conference taking Bryant’s place and keeping the league member totalat 15. The expansion efforts will continue in 2009-10 when The Northeast-10 Conference adds a 16th member in Adelphi University, who currently isa member of The East Coast Conference.

PACE UNIVERSITY SETTERS
THE PACE STORY:
Pace is a university whose resources have played an essential role in the realization of individual dreams of achievementand whose mission is voiced in its motto: Opportunitas.
Founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers as a business school for men and women who aspired to a better life, PaceInstitute began its transformation into a modern university, with emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences, under RobertPace 42 years later. With dynamic leadership and fiscally sound management, Pace has grown into one of the largest uni-versities in New York State, with a multi-million dollar physical plant, an endowment of over $100 million and a reputa-tion for excellent teaching and talented, ambitious graduates.
Pace is a comprehensive university with five schools and one college that offers a wide range of academic and profes-sional programs for a large, diverse population of more than 13,000 students in for-credit programs, and in affiliatedofferings. Through its Lubin School of Business, Pace continues to build its reputation for excellence in business educa-tion. The Lienhard School of Nursing, the School of Law, the School of Education and the Seidenberg School ofComputer Science and Information Systems are more recent responses to the needs of the New York City andWestchester communities for strong professional schools to prepare a well-educated workforce.
The University's decision in 1948 to develop a college of arts and sciences as both an autonomous academic unit and afoundation for the undergraduate core curriculum has strengthened and enriched the educational experience of Pace stu-dents and provided an ongoing source of intellectual enrichment to the University. The Dyson College of Arts andSciences is central to the intellectual life of Pace, to shaping academic priorities, and to providing ethical, humanistic andscientific principles upon which lives and careers are founded.
At the heart of Pace's academic values is an historic commitment to excellence in teaching, as manifested by small class-es, an emphasis on skill development and critical thinking, special tutoring and support services, and academic advising.Academic experiences at Pace emphasize teaching from both a practical and theoretical perspective, drawing upon theexpertise of faculty who balance academic preparation with professional experience to bring a unique dynamic to theclassroom.
While the primary emphasis of the institution is on excellent teaching, the university supports and encourages scholarlyactivity to ensure the intellectual vitality of the faculty. While much of the work has had professional application, Paceparticularly invites scholarship that directly relates to the classroom experience and involves students in the researchprocess.
Pace has always had a student-centered focus and is committed to providing access to those who range widely in age, ethnicity, socio-economic background and academic preparation. Increasing amounts of institutional financial aid to helpstudents meet the growing costs of a private education; locations in New York City and Westchester County; evening, weekend and summer scheduling; and special counseling and academic support services are ways in which the universityhas sought to enhance the accessibility and opportunities of a Pace education.
A significant tradition of Pace University is its strong relationship with business, civic and community organizations.Offering special programs and services to neighboring institutions and corporate partners, the university gains strength inreturn from these partnerships and derives benefits for its students from the networks these linkages provide.
The future of Pace University will be shaped by its traditions and values as they respond to the current needs and expec-tations of today's students. Combining excellence in instruction with personal attention, Pace provides the virtues of thesmall arts and sciences college with the curricular richness, scholarly disposition and excellent professional programs ofthe research and comprehensive institution.
HISTORY OF PACE UNIVERSITY:
Pace is a University whose resources have played an essential role in the realization of individual dreams of achieve-ment, and whose mission is voiced in the motto: Opportunitas.
Founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers, Homer and Charles, The Pace Institute was a business school for men and womenwho aspired to a better life.
Homer and Charles Pace borrowed $600 to rent a classroom and office in the old Tribune building in lower Manhattan to

teach 10 men and three women the principles of accounting and business law. That building once stood where the PacePlaza building stands today.
Two years later, because of the overwhelming success of the Pace School of Accountancy, the Pace brothers relocatedclasses to the nearby Hudson Terminal complex. Another move to the Transportation Building at 225 Broadway tookplace in 1927 in response to continued growth.
In 1948, Pace Institute was approved for college status by the New York Board of Regents. Academic expansion forcedyet another move to 41 Park Row in 1951, and two years later Pace College received authorization from the StateEducation Department to grant the bachelor of arts degree.
Classes began on the Pleasantville campus in 1963. The year before, the Marks Hall building was signed over to theCollege by Pace Trustee Wayne Marks, President of General Foods, and his wife, Helen. Soon after, Dyson Hall wasconstructed, named in honor of alumnus, Trustee and benefactor, Charles H. Dyson. Willcox Hall was named for Trusteeand benefactor Byron Willcox.
In 1965, the Undergraduate School of Business Administration, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School ofEducation were established. The year following, the School of Nursing was founded and was later named after alumnus,Trustee and benefactor Gustav Lienhard. In December 1966, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Civic Center build-ing, Vice President Hubert Humphrey promised to teach at Pace and conducted a Scholar-in-Residence seminar at theNew York City campus.
Finally, in 1973, the State Education Department approved Pace College's petition for university status. Two years later, the College of White Plains consolidated with Pace University, and the School of Law was established in 1976. Theassets of Briarcliff College were acquired in 1977. In the years following, an international education center was openedby IBM Corporation, NYNEX opened a center and the Hastings Center moved its operations to the Briarcliff site. In1983, the School of Computer Science and Information Systems was established as its own entity. In 1997, Pace pur-chased the World Trade Institute, a leading-edge provider of international training programs.
Pace University today is a diverse institution with over 13,000 students. For 100 years, bright, motivated and talentedmen and women have walked out of Pace's many doors, degrees in hand, and have ventured into the world prepared forthe challenges of each passing decade. Every year, curriculum offerings in schools and colleges are modified to meet thechanging needs of ambitious and knowledgeable students.
Throughout the years since 1906, Pace has grown along with the talents of those who comprise what is affectionatelyknown as the "Pace community." The Pace tradition is something in which we can all take pride.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Pace University is committed to providing the best possible private education to a diverse and talented student
body at each Pace University location. The University’s continuous commitment to Opportunitas must be
retained, strengthened and, when necessary, redefined in an uncertain world where many are excluded from the
full benefits of higher education due to economic and social factors beyond their control. Pace’s sustained
emphasis on excellence will be a constant, which will guide decision-making regarding academic programs and
other endeavors. In a world of increasing interdependence, Pace must strengthen its international efforts and con-
tinue its significant investment in technology. In addition, the University’s commitment to self-evaluation and
civic engagement must remain as major goals. All of this must be accomplished during a time of considerable
economic change and in the context of strengthening Pace’s own financial base.
