Nanosensoren met indicatie van voedselkwaliteit:
1. waarneming van omgevingsveranderingen
T, vochtigheid, zuurstof
2. degradatieproducten of microbiële contaminatie
3. detectie van chemische componenten, pathogenen, toxines
bv. zuurstofindicator met TiO2 nanopartikels
= UV geactiveerde colorimetrische zuurstofsensor (methyleenblauw)
O.i.v. UV licht kleurloos
naarmate er meer zuurstof komt wordt meer blauw

Incorporatie van nanosensoren
Monitoring de conditie van het verpakte voedsel
of de omgeving rond het voedsel

!! Belang van eigenschappen nanodeeltje
distributie/dispersie van de nanodeeltjes
vorm en/of geometrie van de deeltjes
bolvormig, cilindervormig, schijfvormig, staafvormig, …:
verschillende interactie met biologisch materiaal
- lengte/breedte ratio van het deeltje
- oppervlaktestructuur van het deeltje (porositeit, …)
- mogelijke statische lading van het deeltje
- kristalstructuur (amorf, kristallijn)
Veel onderzoek naar verblijftijd van nanodeeltjes in het milieu + onder welke vorm
Modellen opgesteld om
voorspellingen te maken: zeer complex!!!
8. Wetgeving
Regelgeving: samenwerking verschillende EU-lidstaten (Frankrijk, Noorwegen, België, Denemarken,
Zweden, Italië, ...) aan wetgeving betreffende nanomaterialen en hun registratie.
België 27 mei 2014: goedkeuring KB betreffende het op de markt brengen van stoffen
geproduceerd in nanoparticulaire toestand.
Dit KB voorziet in de invoering van een nationaal nanomaterialen register dat wordt samengesteld door de
registrerende producenten van stoffen en mengsels die dergelijke materialen bevatten. Stoffen zullen tegen
1 januari 2016 moeten worden geregistreerd, mengsels tegen 1 januari 2017.
Reach voor nanomaterialen geen specifieke bepalingenReach heeft betrekking op stoffen ongeacht hun grootte, vorm of fysieke toestand. Stoffen op
nanometerschaal vallen bijgevolg ook onder Reach.
De Commissie denkt na over de manier om sommige technische bepalingen in de bijlagen en guidelines
m.b.t. Reach te wijzigen zodat de potentiële gevaren van nanomaterialen beter kunnen worden ingeschat en
aansluitend passende maatregelen inzake risicobeheer kunnen worden genomen. De Commissie is echter
niet van plan om de kern van de regelgeving aan te passen.

Nood aan normalisatie: eind 2005 oprichting CEN/TC 352 door Europees
normalisatiecomité (CEN) specifiek voor nanotechnologie.
ISO/TC 229 is het internationale equivalent van deze commissie.-ISO/TC 229: uitwerking 26 ontwerpen van normen en technische specificaties.
-CEN/TC 352: 7 ontwerpen in de aanvaardingsfase; het gaat om de goedkeuring op Europees niveau v.d. technische specificaties v.d. ISO-norm.
