• First Responder Network Authority

• Created by Congress in 2012

• Funded: $7 billion

• Has 700 MHz spectrum nationwide

• Will use LTE commercial network

technology (same as Verizon, AT&T etc.)

• Must produce a design for each State

• Governor must “opt in” or out of the design

• No agency required to use FirstNet
