The final of the 6 goal Susan Montgomery Memorial was a good occasion to have a fine polo game to end a strong season at Meadowbrook in New York. The tournament was presented by Bel-vedere, the final went into OT with La Magnolia II defeating Black Knights 9-8. La Magnolia II, from left to right: Francisco Ayala, Hugo Tagliaferro, Alexander Duckworth presenting trophies for Belvedere, Matis Young and Ali Natella. Most Valuable Player was Facundo Ob-regon, he scored 6 goals for runner up Black Knights. Now 22 years old, Facundo will in fact be able to enjoy the fruit of his good effort, responsibly! Yesterday in Singapore, Sunny Hale led her Orange Fizz team to victory in the Shanghai Tang Women’s International Polo Tournament with a 6-5 win over Absolut, led by team captain Mumy Bellande. Playing with Sunny, the leading scorer with 5 goals, were Kristy Hawkins, Isabelle Larenaudie and Julie Harris/Melissa Ko splitting chukkers. With Mumy for Absolut were Lucy Taylor, Lynly Fong and Yvonne Twiss. Third place was won by Las Bonitas 3-2 over White Magic. Las Bonitas had Lia Salvo, Angela York, Charlotte Marson/Claudia Zeisberger splitting chukkers and Barbara Mason. White Magic was Lesley-Ann Masterton, Sherri-Lyn Hensman, Melissa Tiernan and Ann Wilkinson. The tournament was part of the WCT Qualifiers for the finals next April 2012 in Wellington.
