HUD Final Rule Prohibiting Smoking in Public Housing – December 5, 2016
On December 5, 2016, HUD published a Final Rule in the Federal Register, “Instituting Smoke-Free Public Hous-ing.” This rule requires each public housing agency (PHA) administering public housing to implement a smoke-free policy no later than 18-months from the effective date of the rule. This rule bans the use of prohibited tobacco prod-ucts and electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes, vaping) in all public housing living units, indoor common areas in public housing, and in PHA administrative office buildings. The smoke-free policy also extends to all outdoor areas up to 25 feet from the public housing and administrative office buildings.

MANAGER’S NOTES Management Directors: Susan Gay/Randy Neisen
Schools closed for Summer:
Children are out of school so please slow down when you are driving through the developments.
Mowing schedule effective May 29, 2017: Mowing will begin on Mondays and be finished on Wednesdays. The only exceptions will be rainy weather or holiday related. Please remove all personal belongings from your yards on Monday mornings and keep the yards debris free to allow mowers to get their jobs done.
HUD REAC Inspections: HUD REAC Inspections will still be performed. They have not given us a timeline of when they will occur. We expect to get a two week notice prior to the inspection. We also plan to revisit all Public Housing units before they come. Please call in all work orders as they happen and replace all burned out or missing light bulbs. Also, report any pest control concerns and please do your part in keeping your home clean so that it is less likely that we’ll have any serious pest problem. If you are/were notified of an egress concern during pre-vious inspections, we need you to have this corrected before we do our final walk-thru prior to the REAC in-spections.
Bed Bugs: Bed Bugs are on the rise and have become a nation wide problem. Please be careful about who you allow in your apartment. Use caution when bringing home used furniture and don’t pick up furniture curbside. Inspect any items you bring into your home, including new clothing.
Trash: Please bag all trash and tie it closed to help eliminate odors when throwing trash in the dumpsters. This will also help control flies.
Car Washing:
Please remember that car washing with water from your apartment is not allowed.
Visitors: As in accordance with your lease, residents have 14 days per year of visitation. This is a total of all visitors, each day. If you would like to add someone to your lease, contact our office. Violators will be given a warn-ing, a lease violation, or could lead to lease termination!
