Annie’s art is varied. She absorbs and fuses sculpture, poetry, film and sound, often creating installations containing mixed media. Annie creates interactive works, and by letting the audience interact physically with the art she recovers a level of intimacy with the audience; something that can be lost in the formal atmosphere of a studio space or gallery when the artist is not present.

Annelinde Kirchgaesser is a Fine Art student at AKV St. Joost in Den Bosch, Netherlands. She’s currently on a 5 month residence at LCA. Her installation-related sculptures are about creating borderline atmospheres that explore the viewer’s comfort zone and hidden desires. The primarily ceramic work develops by researching the character of perception and the co-operation with material and space. Her work relates to the subjective interpretation of the world that is surrounding us, based on the feelings certain places and experiences can give us.

Buzz Alexander is a conceptual artist whose work centres around communication, life-cycles and stories. Although she explores numerous themes, she often finds that the roots of most work can be traced back to three ideas in particular. She is currently focussing on water, and the bathroom in particular as a thinking place, noting how the space changes over time and how this affects how the space is viewed within today’s society.

John Lucking is a mixed-media artist based in Leeds. His work makes heavy use of text as both an aesthetic and a means of communication. Humour is a major part of his work, as is the theme of obsession, both of which remain persistent through whatever medium he chooses to adopt. His current work is a continuation of his interest in the theme of obsession, whilst at the same time utilising and experimenting with the medium of video.
