CALENDAR TERM 1 PRINCIPAL’S NEWS Welcome to Week 6! Thank you to the parents who were able to attend the small focus group meeting regarding the Pagewood PS 2021-2024 Strategic Improvement Plan last week. As a result of staff workshops and student feedback, parent and carer surveys and the focus group we have been able to finalise our School Context and School Vision Statement. The school staff look forward to working with you in the future directions of the school. I will be speaking about these at the P&C meeting tonight.
The P&C meeting is onsite tonight, we are looking forward to welcoming you to the library for the meeting at 7:00pm. You will need to sign in using the QR code at the gate, observe 1.5m distance, bring your own pen and if you are not feeling well please do not attend. The gates near the office and Page St will be open at the beginning and end of the meeting. It will be wonderful to meet here at school again. Please note we are limited to 30 people so please register by email to [email protected] It will be great to see some of our families here at school this Sunday 7 March for Clean Up Australia Day with the P&C, remember to RSVP as we are limited to 50 people and bring your own gloves! Enter via Page St. I will be reading to all of the classes this week. Our students really enjoy a good story! Ms Nicole Mayhew Principal

Bayside Council has advised that there will be road surfacing carried out in Holloway Street, adjacent to Baker Street,
from this Wednesday 3 March ongoing, weather permitting, from 7.00pm – 5.00am. Therefore parents and carers
will need to be mindful of council’s parking advice, please see page 6 for all the details.
REPLACEMENT OF ELECTRICAL POLES
Ausgrid is planning to replace two end of life poles on Page Street on Tuesday 9 March from 7am to 5pm, pending
network access and weather conditions. Please be mindful when using the Page Street school entrance on this date
and if your children walk to school please talk with them about this. Full details are on page 8.
STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT
Your child’s Statement of Account is due today. To pay your child’s ‘Statement of Account’, it is helpful to the school
if Parents and Carers use the Parent Online Payment (POP) system. This is our preferred method of payment and
reduces the amount of cash being handled at school by students and staff. To pay by POP, please go to the Pagewood
Public School website at http://www.pagewood-p.schools.nsw.edu.au and select ‘Make a payment’ at the top of the
page. Parents and Carers are welcome to pay for two or more children in one payment. Please note that this facility
is to pay for expenses on your Statement of Account only, it cannot be used to pay for the Canteen or P&C costs such
as Uniforms or fundraising. Payment instructions are on page 5. When paying by POP you must enter:
• Student’s first name
• Student’s surname
• class
• Please tick what you are paying for (eg. voluntary contribution, sport, excursion, other, etc)
• $ Amount
• You DO NOT need the Student Registration Number
This is a secure payment system hosted by Westpac to ensure that your credit/debit card details are captured in a
secure manner. These details are not passed back to the school. If you wish to pay by cash, please send cash payments
to your child’s teacher on Monday only.

Clean up Australia Day Initiative – Sunday 7 March
Good afternoon all
I hope you all are well. As you all know, being able to get together as a school community over the past year has been extremely challenging with COVID and the associated restrictions making it near impossible. For some new to the school, even being on school grounds with their children has been extremely restricted and as we progress through this year and the ever-changing landscape, we will be looking for opportunities that we can get people together. One event that we have decided to go ahead with as a Pagewood Public School P&C is a Clean Up Australia Day Community Event to be held at the school on Sunday 7th of March 2021. This will not be a fundraising day, simply a community event where we can get together and contribute to the school and its environment with a collective clean up event of the school grounds. Due to COVID guidelines, we are limited to 50 people within the school grounds at a time, so will be commencing with an initial volunteer time slot of 1 hour from 9:00am to 10:00am, and if we receive more than 50 volunteers, we will then look to schedule an additional 1-hour time slot. We welcome the assistance from all within the school community, parents, carers, students, and siblings of students. Sorry, no animals permitted on site. We ask you to bring your own gloves on the day. All volunteers need to be registered so RSVP’s are to be sent to [email protected] as soon as possible, with the last day to RSVP being on Monday 1st of March, 2021. Thank you in advance to all of you who can volunteer. A great opportunity to contribute and make an impact on the appearance of our school, and an even better opportunity to meet some new people within our school community. Kind regards, Michael Demetrios
