Well done to all students for participating in the track events and congratulations to all our place getters. Our students loved cheering on their house groups and I think many bonds were formed in their house teams. I would like to thank the parent/carer volunteers who assisted on the day and all of our teaching staff for supervising students on such a fast paced day. As you can imagine an enormous amount of planning goes into the day and I would like to thank Mrs Arthur and Miss Moffat for planning such a successful day. Our K-2 students also had fun at their Athletics Carnival at school. They enjoyed their age races, novelty races and cheering on the primary student house groups on their return to school. Thank you to Mrs Sinkovic and Mrs Hawkes for organising. Please see page 6 for the track results photos from the day. This photo is of the warcries back at school. Congratulations to Tora, Maggie, Bonnie, Sarah & Olivia M, Ava and Jacob who competed in the SEPSSA Cross Country Carnival last Friday. They all did their best and enjoyed representing our school. Well done! Pyjama Day is tomorrow so no need to rush getting dressed in the morning. Please make sure your child is dressed warmly and has appropriate closed in shoes for school (Yes, I have my PJs ready for tomorrow). Statement of Accounts have been sent out this term and are now overdue. It is important for all accounts to be paid. We have a number of activities coming up such as Dance In the Spotlight performances and Bandfest. Students will not be able to particpate in these activities if payment, or arrangements to pay, has not been made. WELLBEING WEEK

This week is Wellbeing Week at Pagewood Public. This is a week to support the wellbeing

of our students and staff. You will notice a few changes to the school routine. Homework

will be sent home in the form of a grid. Students are free to complete as many of these

activities as they like. In addition there will be a series of

activities taking place before school and during lunchtimes

throughout the week. Please see the Wellbeing Activity Table

on page 4 and the Wellbeing Homework on page 5 for more

information. Thanks to Mrs Bevis and Miss Grisanti for

organising some treats for the staff!

NAIDOC WEEK

This week is also NAIDOC Week. As part of NAIDOC Week we have an indigenous incursion with Tjupurra playing the Didjeribone.

The Didjeribone is an Australian made and designed instrument fusing the elements of the didjeridoo and trombone. This show

presents an educational exploration of ancient tradition, modern technology and personal creative development. Tjupurra shares

his inspiring personal journey, the history of his culture and the Djabera Tribe, and the expressions of Aboriginal art and music.

SRC MUFTI DAY

Tomorrow, Tuesday 18 June, the SRC are hosting a mufti day for all students. The theme for this year is

Pyjama Day! If you wish to wear pyjamas to school, please bring a gold coin donation to be

given to your class teacher. Make sure you are dressed warmly! Mrs Bevis and the SRC.

ATHLETICS CARNIVAL Congratulations to all of our amazing runners who placed in their track events at the Athletics Carnival last week, as well as

those who participated. The Track Results are listed on page 6 and the results from the other field events will be released all

together once they have been completed. The ribbons will be given out at a coming assembly, date to be announced.

PARENT – TEACHER – STUDENT MEETINGS

During Week 10 there will be an opportunity for parents and students to meet with

their class teacher. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss student learning and

progress both academically and socially. Ten minutes will be allocated for each family.

This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss your child’s report which will be sent home

on Friday 28 June and ask any questions you may have. To book a time to meet with your child’s class teacher please see the

information in the newsletter. Students are encouraged to attend the meeting, there will be time for parents to speak with the

teacher during the meeting as well. Please see page 8 for more details on how to book school interviews. Bookings opened last Wednesday 12 June at www.schoolinterviews.com.au and will close on Friday 28 June at 5:00pm.

FLAGPOLES

The new flagpoles have been installed at the front of the school and they look amazing! Please

ensure children do not touch or swing on the poles on their way past. Flags will be flown at

half-mast on certain days as a sign of respect and as a mark of mourning and in accordance

with protocol. Student leaders will be learning about the protocols around the flags over the

coming weeks and will be responsible for raising and lowering the flags each day.

PAGEWOOD PLACE

Visionary Group has just completed the Silkwood by Silkari® residential complex across from

the school. Later this year, Visionary is also looking to commence building its retail-led, mixed-

use commercial building next to the residential development. This will be on the corner of

Green Street and Holloway Street. Visionary wants to gauge the types of outlets and tenancies

the school community would like to see in its complex. As such, below is a link to a 10-question

survey to gauge your feedback. Please feel free to complete the survey by Friday 21 June Close of Business.
