ARTICLE ONE.1

Teaching is becoming more difficult. Technology is becoming an important use in

schools Some of this generation’s teachers right now

typically do not know as much about technology as their pupils.

The internet as an obstacle. We look to hard copy materials less and less. The internet offers a seemingly endless wealth of

information. This information has to be both verified and

validated by the instructor.

Page 4: Paige hardin module 6 part 2

ARTICLE ONE.2

Negative effects of the internet. Researchers believe that students are not

looking up material for classes. Students are taking advantage of the internet. Information can be misleading on the web.

Positive effects of the internet. Teachers feel like students are working harder on

the internet. Students are able to send their work to teachers

while they are not with one another. The internet provides a tremendous amount of

different studies and information.

ARTICLE ONE SUMMARY

This article went over negative and positive effects of technology in the classroom. I liked how it did not favor just one side of the argument. After reading this article I believe that technology is a great way to teach students how to learn the different material.

Teachers now have to know more material in order to teach their students. I feel like teachers should know their material before they try passing it on to other students.

Technology as a catalyst

Page 6: Paige hardin module 6 part 2

ARTICLE TWO.1

School plan Most schools are developing a new plan that

incorporates technology into it. Technology is no longer a “choice” to whether

the teachers teach with it but rather a requirement.

Technology is replacing the use of the paper and pencil method. Students would rather type everything out rather than spend more time by writing it out.

Most plans are ever changing because technology continues to grow, expand, and transform continuously.

ARTICLE TWO.2

Technologies role in a school. The teachers use computers and projectors to

teach their methods. Students have access to computers in labs and

sometimes in individual classrooms. This access by students must be monitored by

faculty.

Adapting to technology With the ever present changes in technology

many schools have technology departments to better adapt to change.

Page 8: Paige hardin module 6 part 2

ARTICLE TWO SUMMARY This article stated that technology is replacing

the traditional methods in the classroom replacing these with digital methods.

School districts are hiring special teams of people to work on new plans to better integrate the technology throughout the classroom.

Technology is ever changing and its integration is an ever challenging task, so continuous support will be ever necessary.

Developing a School Plan

ARTICLE THREE.1

Issues with technology Some schools lack the funds to initiate a fully

functional technology plan. Some issues include a lack of connectivity, slow

system performance, and loss of saved data.

Improving performance Schools with limited budgets have found other

ways to improve technology use in a district. They have done things like using old donated

computers and donated time and effort form the local community to improve and update their system.

ARTICLE THREE.2

Promises of technology Technology promises to be an ever important

part of our lives from now on. The benefit of our culture being a capital market

is that new technology is constantly being improved leading to lower prices for the public sector on yesterdays technology.

This particularly benefits schools as they do not need the most advanced computers out there to do the things most students need to use them for. Allowing them to purchase old systems for discount prices.

Page 11: Paige hardin module 6 part 2

ARTICLE THREE SUMMARY

This article stated the limitations for smaller school districts and those educating students at home. They sometimes lack the funds to initiate a proper technology plan and many times must resort to lesser technology.

Although they may not be able to initially afford the new technology, they make due by making compromises on initial quality.

Affordability of technology

Page 12: Paige hardin module 6 part 2

IN CONCLUSION

Technology is something that the educational world must embrace as it is part of our everyday lives in most every instance.

Schools must work to create a plan to integrate this technology and continuously update that plan for the changes to the technology.

Schools must also turn to the students themselves for help with the technology they own, and use them as resources to help those who are less familiar with it.
