OPEN TO ALLVicious dogs are not eligible and must not be brought to the show

Exhibitors are held responsible for any damage done by their dog during the exhibition

1 Opening of Show: The Show will open at 7.00 am each day.

2 Arrival of Dogs: Dogs will be received until 12 noon and after which no dogs may be received except under veryexceptional and unforeseen circumstances and by any special permission of the Show Management.

3 Judging Time: Judging will commence 9.30 am each day, unless otherwise stated.

4 Show Closes: Exhibits may be removed from the show after their judging has been completed. Exhibits may not beremoved any earlier unless by written order of the Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Practitioner or of the ShowManagement and then only in very exceptional and unforeseen circumstances which must be reported to the KennelClub. The Show will close half an hour after all judging has been completed by which time all dogs must be removed.

5 Entry Fees: The following entry fees are payable and include VAT: Breeds with Challenge Certificates on offer:£27.00 for the first entry and £5.00 for subsequent entries with the same dog. Breeds without Challenge Certificateson offer, AVNSC, Imported Register and NFC: £16.00 for the first entry and £5.00 for subsequent entries with thesame dog. Champion and Veteran Stakes: £27.00 if the dog is not entered in breed classes. YKC £16.00 if the dogis not entered in breed classes, and J/AHA entries £5.00. 6 Prize Money: Prize money, where paid, is detailed under the relevant Stakes Classes.

7 Refusal of Entries: The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries.

8 Puppies: Puppies under six calendar months of age on the first day of the Show are not eligible for exhibition.

9 Mating of Bitches: The mating of bitches within the precincts of the Show is forbidden.

10 Best Puppy in ShowWhere a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has competed andhas been declared Best Puppy in Breed, Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified Puppy or Best Any VarietyImported Breed Register Puppy. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on the firstday of the Show. Where the Best of Breed, Best in Group or Best in Show is a puppy it should automatically beawarded Best Puppy in Breed, Best in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best ofBreed, Reserve Best of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog itshould also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively.Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed, Best in Group and Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection ofBest of Breed and Best in Show respectively.(a) Championship Shows Judged on the Group System

(Definition: Shows judged on Group System - refer to Regulation 27.b.)(1) Best Puppy in Breed

A Best Puppy must be declared in each breed from puppies entered in the breed classes.A Best Puppy must be declared from the Any Variety Not Separately classified class(es).A Best Puppy must be declared from the Any Variety Imported Breed Register class(es).

(2) Best Puppy in Group and subsequent puppy group placings must be selected from:(a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed provided that they are unbeaten by any other puppy.(b) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each

Group or on each day.(c) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Imported Breed Register classes in each

group or on each day.(3) Best Puppy in Show must be selected from the Best Puppy in Group winners.

(b) Shows Not Judged on the Group SystemBest Puppy in ShowBest Puppy in Show and subsequent placings must be selected from those puppies declared Best Puppy inBreed, the puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each Groupor on each day and the puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Imported Breed Register classes ineach Group or on each day.

11 Best in ShowThe dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and has been declared Best of Breed, Best Any VarietyNot Separately Classified or Best Any Variety Imported Breed Register.

(a) Shows Judged on the Group System(1) Best of Breed

Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those exhibitswhich have received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided foreach sex of a breed a Best of each Sex must be declared.NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified/Best Any Variety Imported BreedRegister award relevant to a Category 3 Breed will not be confirmed until the dog has passed anexamination by the General and Group Championship Show Veterinary Surgeon.

(2) Best of GroupBest of Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from:(a) The Best of Breed winners in each Group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs.(b) The dog declared Best from Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each Group or on

each day.(c) The dog declared Best from Any Variety Imported Breed Register class or classes in each Group or

on each day.NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified/ Best Any VarietyImported Breed Register from a breed designated by the Kennel Club as a Category 3 Breed is noteligible to compete in the Group competition unless it has passed an examination by the Show’sVeterinary Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in the relevantGroup.

(3) Best in ShowBest in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners.Reserve Best in Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Bestin Show.

(b) Shows Not Judged on the Group SystemBest in ShowBest in Show and subsequent placings must be selected from:(a) Those dogs declared Best of Breed.(b) The dog declared Best from Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each Group or on each

day.(c) The dog declared Best from Any Variety Imported Breeds Register class or classes in each Group or on

each day.

12 Admission to Groups: Exhibits will not be admitted to Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes haselapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed byprevious judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Management.

13 Harsh Handling: Exhibitors must not pick up dogs by their tails and leads when lifting them nor handle a dog in amanner which causes its feet not to touch the ground when on the move. This is not acceptable. Exhibitors shouldnote that such practice would constitute harsh handling and reports of such practice will be referred to the Committeeunder Kennel Club Show Regulation F11.

14 Preparation for Exhibition: All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F Annex B — Regulationsfor the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.

15 Dogs Resident Outside the UK: All dogs resident outside the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority toCompete number before entry to the show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Competenumber will be returned to the exhibitor/competitor.

16 Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days: Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take allreasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at riskby any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of the Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referredto the Board for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations.• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy

holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water

available to drink.• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.• Keep the dog in the shade — take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of

water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths

of time.Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to direresults. Please look after your dog’s welfare.WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BENECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.

17 Not For Competition. Not for competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recordedon the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.

18 Schedule Amendments: No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the GeneralCommittee of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.

19 Regulations: The Show will be held under Kennel Club Limited Rules and Show Regulations. All Rules, Definitionsor Instructions of the nature of Rules & Regulations printed for convenience in other parts of this Schedule shall bedeemed to be Regulations of the Show and shall have the same effect as if they formed part of these Regulations.

20 Receipt of Entries: If an acknowledgement of receipt of entries is required, an addressed stamped card with“Receipt” written on the reverse side should be enclosed. If a VAT receipt is required, please put “VAT Receipt”.

21 Returned Cheques: Unsigned cheques may result in return of entry and cheques dishonoured by the Bank for anyreason will render the exhibitor liable for expenses incurred.

22 Benching of Dogs: All dogs must be brought with a suitable strong chain and collar properly fastened on the dog.Dogs of the same breed will be benched together (including dogs entered NFC). Entries for dogs on a day for whichtheir breed is not scheduled cannot be accepted. No decorations, pictures, cards or notices may be placed over thebenches except Prize Cards. No bench numbers may be changed from one pen to another and no dog shall bebenched on any but its own numbered pen. Under no circumstances may partitions between the dogs be removed.

23 Exclusion of Dogs: The Show Management reserve the right to exclude or remove any dog which in their opinionor in the opinion of a Veterinary Officer is not suitable for exhibition.

24 Safety of Dogs: The Committee will be most anxious for the care and safety of dogs brought for exhibition but it mustbe understood by exhibitors and all other persons that the Committee will not be responsible for the entire or partialloss or detention or damage to a dog or dogs, boxes, cages, trolleys, collars or any other property whatever arisingfrom any accident, or any other cause whatever, nor for any act or omission of themselves, their Officers, agents orservants and it is on this understanding only that entries are received.

25 Passes: One free pass will be sent for each dog entered but a partnership entering one dog only will be sent two passes.

26 Catalogues: Separate catalogues will be available for each exhibitor at a cost of £6.00 (Group catalogues £5.00) andMUST be ordered with entries. Catalogues on the day £7. Each catalogue will contain the owner’s name and address(unless otherwise instructed by the owner) in each breed in alphabetical order and the dogs’ names in numerical order.

27 First, Second and Third Day Winners: First, second and third day winners in the Groups and Stakes classes maybe given £20 to defray expenses if they return to compete in the finals on the fourth day. Except where otherwise stated.

28 Gangways: Gangways in the tents and between the rings MUST allow free passage at all times and boxes, tablesetc. causing obstruction may be removed by the Show Management.

29 Order of Judging: A provisional Order of Judging will be published in the Canine Press in advance but this is subjectto change by the Show Management.

30 Photography and Video Rights: The Organisers would like to bring the regulation on photography and filming to theattention of exhibitors, trade stands, press and visitors.It is a condition of all those attending the event that no filming or other form of recording may be taken or made at thevenue without express written permission of the organisers. The taking of photographs in the show venue for sale orreward is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the Organisers. Press accredited photographers areprovided with permission to take photographs ONLY for use in newspapers, magazines and internet sites – this is fornews purposes only. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs of general views of the show,provided that these are for private use. Specific dogs may be photographed only with the approval of the exhibitor. Nophotography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually taking place. However, judges mayallow it to happen at the end of classes or after the Challenge Certificate is awarded. Filming and flash photographyis allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the camera is actually affecting exhibits.However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being affected, a ring steward or the judge isempowered to stop the person concerned.

31 Catering: A full range of catering will be offered throughout the day.

32 Coaches: Coaches may be parked free of charge but must remain in the allocated area.

33 Fouling: Special stewards will be available to assist in clearing fouling but it remains the exhibitor’s responsibility toclear any fouling which occurs.

34 Control of Dogs: Exhibitors should remember that the Show is on farming land and must NOT allow dogs loose inthe vicinity of cattle or sheep which may be in adjoining fields.

REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F(B)1 These Regulations must be observed when a dog is prepared for exhibition and/or exhibited at any Kennel

Club Licensed event. Objections may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action underthese Show Regulations and/or for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rule A42.(a) A dog found to have been exhibited in breach of these Regulations will automatically be disqualified

from exhibition at the show and from any award gained thereat.(b) Unless the exhibitor provides a satisfactory explanation for the dog being exhibited in breach of these

Regulations then he/she may be subject to further penalties of either a fine or as listed under Rule A42.

2 (a) No substance which alters the natural colour, texture or body of the coat may be present in the dog’scoat for any purpose at any time during the Show. No substance which alters the natural colour ofany external part of the dog may be present on the dog for any purpose at any time during the Show.

(b) Any other substance (other than water) which may be used in the preparation of a dog for exhibitionmust not be allowed to remain in the coat or on any other part of the dog at the time of exhibition.

3 No act or operation which alters the natural conformation of a dog or any part thereof may be performed except:(a) Operations certified to the satisfaction of the General Committee.(b) The removal of dewclaws of any breed.(c) Operations to prevent breeding, provided that such operations are notified to the Kennel Club before

neutered dogs are shown.Nor must anything be done calculated to in the opinion of the General Committee to deceive.

4 The General Committee without previous notice may order an examination of any dog or dogs at any Show.Any examination thus ordered will be made by a person having executive authority who shall have a writtendirective from the Kennel Club in their possession. Samples may be taken for further examination andanalysis.

5 An individual has the right to lodge an objection to a dog only if he/she is the owner or handler of a dogcompeting in the same breed or class. An objection may, however, be lodged by an official of the Show orby anyone so deputed by the Kennel Club. It will be the responsibility of the individual who lodges theobjection or the official (as appropriate), to substantiate the grounds for the objection. The Kennel Club willsubstantiate the grounds for an objection made on its behalf.

6 Any objection by an individual related to an infringement of these Regulations must be made in writing to theShow Secretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and the individual must produce evidence ofidentity at the time of lodging the complaint.

DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES(Vide Kennel Club Regulations for Definitions of Classes)

PUPPIES UNDER SIX CALENDAR MONTHS OF AGE ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE SHOW ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EXHIBITIONN.B.—The word “dog” includes both sexes

1 In the following Definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any show award that counts towards the title ofChampion under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club.

2 Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted aswins at Open Shows.

3 In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members’ Classes or competing for Members’ Specials,each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society.

4 In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing ofPostal entries shall be counted when entering for any class i.e. 6th June 2018.

5 Wins in Variety Classes do not count for entry in Breed Classes, but when entering for Variety Classes, wins inboth Breed and Variety Classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value.

6 If an exhibitor reports before the judging of a class or classes that a dog has been entered which is ineligible, theexhibitor may choose one of the following options:WithdrawalThe dog may be withdrawn from competition subject to the conditions of Regulations 9(j) and 20.Transfer(a) If a dog is ineligible for a class or classes as regards its breed, colour, sex, weight or height, the Show

Secretary shall transfer it to the equivalent class or classes for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight orheight and, in the event of there being no equivalent class, Minor Puppy and Puppy excepted to the Openclass for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

(b) For an exhibit entered incorrectly in a Minor Puppy Class, Puppy Class or Junior Class, which is over agebut under 12 calendar months of age, 18 calendar months of age or 24 calendar months of age respectively,the Show Secretary shall transfer the exhibit to the Puppy Class, Junior Class or Yearling Class respectivelyfor the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height and in the event of there being no Puppy, Junior orYearling Class, to the Open Class for the correct breed, colour, sex, weight or height.

(c) For any reason other than the above, the Show Secretary shall transfer it to the Open Class for the correctbreed, colour, sex, weight or height.

(d) If an exhibit arrives late and misses a class, even if it is the only class in which the dog is entered, the dogmay not be transferred to any other class.

LIMIT—For dogs which have not become Show Champions under Kennel Club Regulations or under the rules of anygoverning body recognised by the Kennel Club or won three or more CACIB/CAC/Green Stars or won seven ormore First Prizes in all, at Championship Shows in Limit or Open Classes, confined to the Breed, whetherrestricted or not, at Shows where Challenge Certificates were offered for the Breed.

OPEN—For all dogs of the breeds for which the class is provided and eligible for entry at the Show.VETERAN—For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the first day of the Show.CHAMPION STAKES—For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion, Show Champion or Field Trial Champion.

Champion classes may not be scheduled for individual breeds or varieties of breeds.SPECIAL OPEN—Similar to Open except that is is restricted to the eligibility.IMPORTED BREED REGISTER—For breeds confined to the Imported Breeds Register and only when an Interim

Breed Standard has been published by the Kennel Club. Such breeds may be exhibited in this class only, with thewinning dog being eligible for Best in Group/Best Puppy in Group or Best in Show/Best Puppy in Show as relevant.

YKC STAKES—Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition are eligible for entryinto a YKC qualifying stakes class. Dogs must be on the Kennel Club Breed Register to compete in a YKC stakescompetition. The first placed member only in each dog group at the qualifying show will qualify for Crufts. A rosettewill be awarded. If a member is disqualified, the qualification does not roll down to the next placing. All pedigreedogs are eligible to take part provided the dog is registered on the Kennel Club Breed Register. The dog must beregistered a) solely or jointly in the member’s name or b) in the name of a close member of the family (i.e. a groupof people related by blood or by marriage) and under these circumstances the dog must be resident at the YKCmember’s address. No substitute handlers are permitted — the dog must be handled by the registered YKCmember. Members are not permitted to allow another individual to show their dog at the qualifier on their behalf ifthey are not able to attend the class, unless agreed by the YKC Office prior to the show. Members must be aged 6

- 24 years (members 6 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please note that membership of the YKCterminates on a member’s 25th birthday. Therefore if a member is aged 25 years or over by the first day of Cruftsthey will be unable to compete in any YKC class. Please keep this in mind when entering qualifiers throughout thecompeting year. In order to enter any YKC competition you must be a fully paid up member at the time of entry andcompetition. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid your membership fee then any awardwill be forfeited Therefore it is important to renew and maintain YKC membership as current if you wish toparticipate in YKC competitions.

YKC HANDLING CLASSES—Only dogs of six (6) calendar months of age and over on the day of competition areeligible for entry into a YKC qualifying class. Qualification is on a points basis as follows: 1st place = 30 points; 2ndplace = 20 points; 3rd place = 10 points. Members will receive points per group (i.e. if they handle a Bloodhound,they will get points towards the Hound group). If a member gains 30 points in any one group, they will qualify toenter a dog from that group at Crufts 2019. If a member gains 30 or more points in multiple groups, they may onlycompete with one dog at Crufts, but they will have the option to choose from any of the groups they have 30 ormore points in. KENNEL CLUB SPECIAL BEGINNERS COMPETITION—A new competition sponsored by the Kennel Club. ASpecial Beginners class for dogs and bitches plus AVNSC and Imported Breed Register classes is scheduled. TheBest Special Beginner to be declared for each breed plus AVNSC and Imported Breed Register classes go forwardto the group competition. For class definition see above.The Kennel Club will provide sponsorship in the form of Rosettes 1st - 4th for each group together with prizemoney of £100 for each group to be awarded as follows: 1st Prize £40; 2nd Prize £30; 3rd Prize £20; 4th Prize £10.There is no need to return on the final day.

KENNEL CLUB BREEDERS’ COMPETITION—Each team will consist of a minimum of three and maximum of fourdogs of one breed, all bred by the same breeder or breeding partnership. The breeder enters the class and thenarranges which dogs are exhibited on the day of the show (from those dogs duly entered for exhibition in anotherclass at this show). Please clearly state the name and affix of the registered breeder(s). Entries will not be taken onthe day of the show. Teams will be awarded points/prize money in the KC Breeders’ Competition as follows: Points1st; 30; 2nd 15; 3rd 10; 4th 5. Prize Money 1st Non ABS Prize Fund £20; ABS Prize Fund £25. Please note thatAssured Breeders will be credited with a higher prize value. These points will be recorded in the Kennel ClubBreeders Competition record book through the year. The minimum qualification for the Crufts final will be 50 points,with a maximum of 40 finalists including the winning teams from the European and World Dog Shows’ breederscompetition. Our Dogs will collate the points and publish a leader board through the year.
