CONCEPT  

PAISAL  =  Paisaje  Social  (  Social  Landscape)To  look  at  the  social  landscape  is  to  look  at  the  way  of  organizing  and  experiencing  the  territory;  a  way  of  comprehension  and  appropriation  of  the  geographical  space.  Landscapes  along  which  we  walk  and  that  we  have  constructed,  landscapes  that  reflects  a  strong  convergence  of  processes  and  cultural  meanings.  The  landscape  as  a  social  portrait  of  our  habitat.  

The  video  installation  Paisal  is  a  journey  through  different  views  and  locations;  these  social  landscapes  are  being  transformed  and,  as  they  do,  so  does  the  perspective  of  the  viewer  in  the  space.

The  installation  will  give  the  viewers  a  180º  panoramic  perspective  through  displaying  images  to  their  left  and  right  as  well  as  one  in  front  of  them,  giving  them  the  feeling  of  looking  at  a  scene  in  constant  change,  motion,  and  transformation.  The  images  displayed  are  not  independent  from  each  other  but  have  been  thought  out  so  they  make  sense  within  the  perspective  of  the  space,  generating  the  feeling  of  the  profoundness,  horizon,  and  of  motion.  Three  cameras  were  used  simultaneously  for  recording  the  180º  panorama,  also  some  pohotgraphic  compositions  (like  above)  were  used.    The  multichannel  audio  reinforce  this  idea  of  an  atmospheric  panorama  and  recreates  the  auditory  sensation  of  motion.
