new & existing activities, to provide services & education to enhance the quality of life for elders & to assist elders to age with
dignity & independence.
A Note from Marlene
The months and years are getting away from us, I can not believe that it’s
the New Year and I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and
Holiday as well as a Happy New Year!!!!!
Last week I heard from one of the volunteers for AARP Tax Service that
they will not be providing tax service this year because they did not have
many volunteers signed up, it also looks like Monson and Ware Senior
Center will not be providing FREE tax service as well. Sorry for any in-
convenience this may cause you, I am hoping in 2021 they will have more
volunteers.
Just a reminder the van will be going to Walmart on Thursday, January
9th, and 23rd at 9:00 AM, if interested please call the center to make ar-
rangements, space is limited so please call early.
Once again we are going to have another Murder mystery with Steve Hen-
derson on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, “Murder in the Priory”, light lunch
will be served at 11:30 and the mystery & murder to follow. This riotously
comic, interactive show includes a cast of four highly skilled actors, a solid
script along with lots of improvisation. Space is limited so please sign up
early.
On Tuesday, January 21st, the van will be heading out to the Open Pan-
try in Ware, if interested in going please sign up early. (will leave the
center at 12:30). If you have any question please see myself or Naomi
Gibson for more information.

My Christmas Dream
Last night as I lay sleeping a dream came to me.
I was back in my childhood hoping Santa will
come to my tree.
Santa I tell you now, I don’t want to put you on the
spot but I’ll take one of everything you got
A baseball glove, a baseball bat, a big bottle of
Coke and a baby cat.
Santa, I’ve been good the whole year through.
I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do.
I was nice to my Dad, I was nice to my Mom, I
even helped her singing her Christmas Songs.
That’s when I woke up from my Christmas dream
I thought I was really there so real did it seem.
Now I have the Christmas Spirit that I always will.
So this Christmas Spirit and Christmas Cheer
never will I have my fill

A New Year
It is the time of the year to search your mind. A chance to look deep inside yourself and try to
find.
A pledge to yourself of something you would like to make better. Maybe it will help to keep
these promises if you write them down in a letter.
At the end of the next year check and see.
Was I able to keep these promises to make a better me.
So this New Year’s Eve, think long and hard
about what you can do to try and make a wiser you.
We can all make resolutions, which we have all
done in the past. This New Year’s Eve try to make the kind that will last!
Bev Lemon
January
It freezes- all across a soundless sky
The birds go home. The governing dark's begun:
The steadfast dark that waits not for a sun;
The ultimate dark wherein the race shall die.
Death, with his evil finger to his lip,
Leers in at human windows, turning spy
To learn the country where his rule shall lie
When he assumes perpetual generalship.
The undefeated enemy, the chill
That shall benumb the voiceful earth at last,
Is master of our moment, and has bound
The viewless wind it-self. There is no sound.
It freezes. Every friendly stream is fast.
It freezes; and the graven twigs are still.
