PANCAKE DAY

Activity: Favourite taste

Procedure / InstructionsThree children come to the board and sit down. Now these children close their eyes.

Additional they use eye bandages so they can see anything. Next another child

comes to the board and helps the sitting children to eat some f.e. golden syrup. The

children try to guess the taste. Then the next pancake filling is guessed… It is

important that the other pupils are quiet, listen carefully and then confirm the answer.

Version: All pupils taste different fillings and notice which type is their favourite taste.

After finding the favourite taste all pupils get a worksheet. They have to fill in what

filling of pancakes they like or don’t like.

Perhaps it is possible to cook some pancakes and to fill them with the favourite

choice.

In Britain, people eat pancakes on Pancake Day. These are made of

eggs, flour and milk. It is traditional to eat pancakes with lemon juice and

sugar. This is delicious, but now lots of other pancakes fillings are

popular, too. For example golden syrup, jam, ice cream, chocolate,

cheese, natural yogurt, fresh fruit and so on.
