NetworkRequirements
Requirements Comment
Ethernet10/100BaseTLAN CAT5CablingwithRJ45Connectors

LANConnectedtoInternet Minimalbandwidth;Cable/DSLcompatible.

SNMP–Notsupported/required. SNMPissecurityvulnerability.
BandwidthUsageTheBrivocontrolpanelhasavirtuallyunnoticeableeffectonyourLANenvironment.Itrequiresverylittlebandwidthandnonetworkmanagement.
Thecontrolpanelproducesthefollowingtypesofnetworktraffic:
Forbothpanelversions,inresponsetolocalevents(credentialauthorization,alarms,timers,etc.),itpostsHTTPSmessagestotheBrivoOnairCloudServer.

FirewallConsiderationsThe-EpaneloperatessuccessfullythroughanyfirewallthatisconfiguredtoallowOUTBOUNDHTTPStraffic(Port443).ItdoesnotrequirethatanyfirewallportsbeopentoINBOUNDtrafficfromoutsideyourenvironment.ThisisbecauseofthewaythattheHTTP(S)protocoloperateswithfirewalls.
DatafromtheBrivoOnairCloudServerisdownloadedtothecontrolpanelbyvirtueofthefactthatfirewallsallowtheresponsetoanHTTP(S)“POST”messagetoreturnthroughthefirewall,providedtheoriginalPOSTmessageoriginatedfromwithinthefirewall,asitdoesinthecaseofaninstalled–Epanel.
