MESSAGE BY DIRECTOR
It gives me great pleasure to write my message for the maiden issue of this
E-Magazine of Mechanical Department, which I am sure would go a long
way in spreading the message of departmental achievements, may be in the
field of academics, cultural front, modelling, projects, placements and
above all university positions. I strongly believe that spreading such
information works as a tonic for the fresher aspirants because they feel
motivated by the performance level of their predecessors when shared with
transparency. I would like to put on record my special appreciation for your
MECHROUS SOCIETY which is a unique approach of student
involvement.
Let us all work together to make PIET a symbol of success in the young
minds and excel to greater heights.
I wish your magazine a great success. Happy reading.

A NOTE FROM MAGAZINE COMMITTEE
On the seventh sky!
Yes this was the feeling which we felt when we got the opportunity to
contribute towards the maiden addition of Mechanical department E-
Magazine. While compiling the magazine care was taken that this magazine
should became the mouth piece of departmental achievements since past
quarter year.
Nothing is perfect in this world, this is our sole belief, this
committee will strive hard to achieve perfectness but there can be scope of
improvement in any section of this magazine.
We openly welcome suggestions and feedback from students as well as
faculty members.
Thank you.

SPORTS MEET 2K16
Sport and physical education is fundamental to the early development of
children and youth and the skills learned during play, physical education
and sport contribute to the holistic development of young people. Through
participation in sport and physical education, young people learn about the
importance of key values such as:
honesty,
teamwork,
fair play,
respect for themselves and others, and
adherence to rules.
It also provides a forum for young people to learn how to deal with
competition and how to cope with both winning and losing. These learning
aspects highlight the impact of physical education and sport on a child’s
social and moral development in addition to physical skills and abilities.
Students of Mechanical Department are active participants in sports meet
held not only in PIET but also various inter collage events, PIET Badminton
Team and Table Tennis team & PIET Basketball Team & Volley Ball Team
bagged positions respectively in fiercely fought semi-finals and finals.

PROJECT AND INNOVATION The project is not just another piece of coursework. It is the part of the
course where you show off your individual abilities and specialism
Project work has many importance for students:
• it is the largest single piece of work you will do during your degree
course
• it is the part of the curriculum that allows you to specialise in a topic
you are good at or enjoy
• it is the part of your course that prospective employers will most
likely ask you about at interview
• it allows you to show off a wide range of the skills and knowledge
learned during your course
Students of mechanical department here in PIET engages themselves in
project making in diverse area of mechanical engineering. The topics of the
project are selected based on numbers of parameters like:
Usefulness to society addressing a large cross-section
Customer end applicability/scalability
Sustainability; Long term/environment friendly
Application of engineering principles with innovativeness
Design problem and boundaries
