1. Create center of daffodil by rolling a thin rectangle of paper tightly. Use floral tape to attach center to wire.

If desired, place a bead of glue along the edge to seal.

2. Trace trumpet template onto paper. If using crepe paper, place template with grain of paper running top to bottom.

Cut out and set aside. 3. Fold paper in half, then place template onto paper (if using crepe paper, remember to

align template with grain running top to bottom). Trace and cut out while folded to create 2 sets of petals at once.

4. Cut out template shape. Cut down about 1 to 1 ½ inches between peaks, leaving bottom uncut (use gray lines on template as guide).

4. Place center of stem on trumpet with the ruffled edge up.

Glue along one edge of trumpet,

then roll paper around finger to create a tube. 5. Twist bottom of trumpet, allowing enough room at base to attach to stem.

6.Attach base of trumpet to wire with floral tape. When working with floral tape, pull to expose the sticky part.

7. Place trumpet on one strip of petals, and wrap bottom of strip tightly around base. Secure to wire with floral tape.

8. Wrap second set of petals in same manner. Be sure the petals are not stacked on top of one another, but alternate with first row of petals.

Adhere with floral tape.

9. Gently peel the petals down and away from the trumpet.

Tips for working with small children:

1. If working with a group of children, pre-assembling the centers and cutting the trumpets/petals can be a time saver.

2. If child is cutting petals, be sure he does not cut through petal strip base. If this happens, just tape on the unattached petal.

3. Begin taping trumpet/petals and let child finish wrapping.
