For 2018, the PITA PAPERmatters! Conference/Exhibition returns to Central Lancashire, considered by many to be the ‘Ancestral Home’ of Papermaking in the UK. Adopting the ever popular split, demi-conference formula to minimise time away for the office, this packed two day event (split over Tuesday, 25 th afternoon and Wednesday 26 th morning) provides Papermakers and Suppliers alike an opportunity to: Catch up on the latest developments in the key Papermaking areas, including: What are the future trends in Fibre Supply - Will Farmers be our new best Friends? What’s New in Forming - Are Contaminants really an issue? Energy - Is the Nuclear Powered Paper Mill a possibility? Mathematical Modelling - Can you really control the Dryer Section with a Slide Rule? Is it safe to eat? - Do you really know what is in that Burger Box? The Environment - What can the Paper Industry do to aid Milk Production? Update on the latest informed views on the impact of Brexit on Papermaking in the UK and what will happen when Europe leaves the Commonwealth The PITA Office has compiled and continues to add exciting new topics to a packed two day programme (no early finishes on the First day!). The Full Programme will be published on the PITA Website at the end of July, along with booking details. It would not be a PITA Event without a Social Event and on Tuesday evening delegates will be invited to mingle for a Late Summer Barbeque, a chance to make or lose your fortune in ‘Casino Papeterie’ and, for once and for all, we will decide ‘Who are the Better Papermak- ers’ in our Handsheet Making Competition. To round off the event on Wednesday afternoon, departing delegates will be provided with a packed lunch and the opportunity to visit nearby Heysham Nuclear Power Station . The venue for this must attend event is Lancaster University , located 3 miles south of the Centre of Lancaster (with a regular bus service between the Railway Station and the Univer- sity Campus) and only 2 miles from the M6 Motorway. Accommodation is available on the University Campus, adjacent to the venue, with prices ranging from £48 per night when booked using the special promotional code provided to delegates. It’s going to be a great, a really great event! All this, including conference proceedings, meals & refreshments for only £175 (plus VAT) for PITA Members. 25 th & 26 th September 2018 Lancaster University PAPERmaƩers! 2018 Conference & ExhibiƟon
