Pathogenicity Adult worms weave in and out of the mucosa of the small intestine causing damage to the epithelium and submucosa. Heavy infection can occur from autoinfection This damage interferes with the absorption of nutrients and the maintenance of a proper electrolyte balance Symptoms Watery diarrhea
