Gold, a precious metal, is prized for two important
characteristics. First of all, gold has a lustrous beauty that is
resistant to corrosion. Therefore, it is suitable for jewelry,
coins, and ornamental purposes. For example, a Macedonian coin
remains as untarnished today as the day it was made 25 centuries
ago. Another important characteristic of gold is its Another

science. For many years, it has been used in hundreds of industrial
applications, such as photography and dentistry. The most recent
use of gold is in astronauts' suits. Astronauts wear gold-plated
heat shields for protections when they go outside spaceships in

also for its utility.

should prohibit alcohol on campus because students are affected in
studying by drinking and alcohol has a bad influence on students.
To begin with, drinking disturbs students in their studying.
Students who drink before the class can not focus on the lecture.
For example, the recent studies by the health department in Korea
show that 74% of people who drink are less concentrative than
others who do not drink. Furthermore, alcohol is accompanied by bad
effects. Alcohol is harmful to students’ health. Alcohol also
causes lots Alcohol is harmful to students’ health. Alcohol also
causes lots of trouble on campus. For instance, my friend, Sung Min
Kim, drank on campus a few days ago. He was very excited because of
alcohol. Suddenly, he hit somebody who was just walking on campus.
They made a fight for a while, so they had injuries on their body.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that university put an embargo on
alcohol because of students’ studying ability and health. Last but
not least, students should remind that the campus is a place for
studying. As they can drink off campus, I would encourage college
students not to drink on campus.
