Aufruf Of Jonathan Teitelbaum, Shemini Atzeret, 5774Wedding Of Jonathan & Basya Adler, October 6th

Although the Adler Family make their home in Teaneck, New Jersey, our Kallah has elected to honor the minhag established by her two big sisters, Mirel Stavsky of Bergenfield, New Jersey, and Shoshana Genach of Riverdale, New York, and will celebrate her wedding at The Atrium in Monsey.

Basya is the daughter of Helen and Emanuel Adler of Teaneck. In addition to her two sisters, Basya also has two brothers, the older, Avraham Simcha, of Teaneck, and the younger, Gershon the bochur, who attends Yeshiva University.

The Kallah received her degree in speech therapy from Stern College and then a master’s degree in speech therapy from Kean University. She currently works as a speech therapist for the Board of Education of the City of Paterson, New Jersey.

The Chattan attended Yeshivat Sha’alvim in Israel and has a degree in mathematics from Yeshiva University. Jonathan is sandwiched in between big sister, Yonina, who is a speech therapist in New York City and little sister, Naava, who is in her junior year at Stern.

EDOS is extremely pleased to welcome the bride, Basya, as well as her parents, Helen and Emanuel Adler and brother Gershon. We sincerely hope that they will fully enjoy their brief visit to the Mile High City.

Basya is the granddaughter of Jetty Monderer, and the late Max Monderer, z”l, and Dorit Adler and the late Jack Adler, z”l.

Jonathan is the grandson of Sarah Teitelbaum and the late Herman Teitelbaum, z”l, of Brooklyn and Goldie and Dr. Jacob Brener, of New York City. Jonathan is also the great grandson of the late Rabbi Samuel Weiss, z”l, of Silver Spring, who, with his impeccable attire, visited our Shul on several occasions.

We take note of the fact that the Chattan's mother is a past president of our ladies auxiliary and chaired one of our most successful annual dinners, while Jonathan’s father has been our Shul President and even more importantly, has served as our official Baal Tokeah, and Megillat Esther reader for more than three decades, as well as reading Kohelet for the congregation. May he go from strength to strength.

So, we wish a warm and loving Mazel Tov to Basya and Jonathan, their parents, grandparents and the entire combined family, and pray that Hashem will bless the young couple with munificent blessings.

Jack Greenwald

Wedding Of Abbi Levine And Alon Rosenthal, October 9thKing David Hotel,Yerushalayim Shel Zahav

Abbi Levine, daughter of Ellen and Dr. Mark Levine, will marry Israeli-born Alon Rosenthal, son of Dov and Paula Rosenthal of The Netherlands, on October 9th, 2013 at The King David Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel.

Abbi has a PhD from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom and majored in Literature and Art. She was formerly the executive director and chief curator of the Madden Museum in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The Kallah is a partner at i heart art, LLC in Denver.

The Chattan is a graduate of Delft University of Technology, with a master’s degree in Applied Physics, Optics and Electromagnetism. He is presently employed in this field in the Netherlands. Alon has won numerous world-wide awards in his chosen field of physics.

Abbi has one sister, Libbi, who, some 11 years ago, married Israeli born, Aviv Segav. Libbi and Aviv, in addition to raising twin daughters, age 5, practice law with her father, who occupies the Mark Levine Chair at the Burns School/Daniels College of the University of Denver.

Alon is the eldest of four children. Brothers Amos and Raoul are completing their PhDs in Zurich in Inorganic Chemistry and Microbiology, respectively, and sister Mira has just begun a master’s program in Bio-Pharmaceuticals, all in the Netherlands.

The Kallah, her sister and their father have a total of 13 university degrees. The Chattan and Kallah and their immediate families certainly have a super abundance of advanced degrees. Thus, one can say, without fear of contradiction, that this is a marriage made in academia!

Abbi is the granddaughter of Joyce Sachter and the late Nat Sachter, z"l, of Denver and the late Bernadine (Bea) Levin, z"l, and Irwin (Duke) Levine, z"l, of Denver. Alon is the grandson of Martta Hakkarainen and the late Tauno Hakkarainen and Pessia Rosenthal and the late Yaakov Rosenthal, z"l,

East Denver Orthodox Synagogue wishes Abbi and Alon, their parents and long time members, Ellen and Mark Levine and Paula and Dov Rosenthal, grandmothers, assorted siblings and all the members of their combined families, our best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year and for a wonderful married life together.

Jack Greenwald
