A NEW WAY TO REDEEM KIDS CASH!
Have a bunch of Kids Cash accumulated? Now you can redeem your Kids Cash for items
listed in our Kids Cash Store catalog? Intended to get your kids moving, thinking, &
learning! These items promote positive play and family together time, brought to you by
the Menominee County Great Start Parent Coalition. Each ‘set’ pictured can be redeemed
for $10 Kids Cash, based on availability. To redeem, first call Menominee County Great
Start at (906) 863-5665 ext. 1028 or e-mail [email protected] to give advance notice so
the package can be prepared. Items will be held for 48 hours. Bring your Kids Cash to the
Menominee County Intermediate School District at 1201 41st Ave. in Menominee and
redeem for the package requested. Please note: items not picked up within 48 hours will be
put back into the Kids Cash Store and will be available for redemption from other families. Limit of
2 items per family per month.

ROUND IT UP EVENT. All Jack’s Fresh Market locations ask
shoppers to consider rounding their grocery bill to the nearest dollar. All money
raised will benefit the YMCA afterschool program. June 12-Sept. 1 - SUMMER Y-KIDS PROGRAM. Daily Monday-Friday program
from 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Options for
weekly or short weeks available.
Registration starts May 1. There are
separate programs for different age
groups starting at age 4. New for this
year is the Summer Y-Kids program
that is available at the Marinette
Middle School, Monday-Friday, June 19
-30 and July 6-19 from 12:30-5:30 p.m.
each day for children ages 5-12 who
are enrolled in the Marinette Summer
Learning Program
June 12-15, 19-22, 26-29, July 10-13, 17-20, 24-27, July 31-Aug. 3, Aug. 7-10,
14-17 and 21-25 - SUMMER THREE-DAY SWIM SPECIALS. Held for youth
ages 6 and older, and preschool ages 3-5 on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from
10:15-10:45 a.m. Cost is $12 for members and $21 for the general public.
June 19-22 - YMCA BASEBALL/TEE BALL SPORTS CAMP. Held from 9:30-11
a.m., for grades K-6 at the YMCA. Registration deadline is June 12. Cost is $18 for
members and $29 for the general public.
June 22 - YMCA WORLD’S LARGEST SWIMMING
LESSON. Kids all over the world are meeting to break the
world record. Held from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Cost is $3 for
members and $6 for the general public.
June 26- 29 - YMCA BASKETBALL
SPORTS CAMP. Held from 9:30-11 a.m. for grades K-6 at the YMCA.
Registration deadline is June 18. Cost is $18 for members and $29 for the
general public.
July 10 - YMCA FLAG FOOTBALL ONE DAY CLINIC. Held at the
YMCA for grades K-3 from 5- 6:30 p.m. Cost is $6 for members and $10 for the general public. Children will participate in age-appropriate drills to
get them ready for the upcoming season. No T-shirt given.
July 10-13 - YMCA SOCCER SPORTS CAMP. Held from 9:30-11
a.m. for grades K-6 at the YMCA. Registration deadline is June 29. Cost is
$18 for members and $29 for the general public.
July 10-13 - GYMNASTICS SUMMER CAMP. Held for all skill levels from 9:30
a.m. until 3 p.m. Cost is $90 for members and $135 for the general public.
July 24-Aug. 28 - YMCA LIL’ TOT FOOTBALL LEAGUE -
Class for ages 3-4 with a maximum of 20 participants. Held Mondays
from 5-5:30 p.m. at the YMCA. Cost is $23 for members and $39 for
the general public.
AREA SUMMER EVENTS CONT.. .
Aug. 1-31 - YMCA YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL
LEAGUE - Now considered an NFL Flag League. Held on
Tuesday and Thursday evenings for grades K-3 at the
Menominee YMCA field. Team practices will be held at the
discretion of the coaches. Cost is $35 for members and $54
for the general public. Registration deadline is July 9.
Theater/Choir June 12-23
THEATRE CAMP - DISNEY’S “THE ARISTOCATS.” Participants ages 6-18
will learn the aspects of being part of a production in a real
live theatre setting, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. They will learn
theatre language, stage presence, costuming, set creation and
more. At the end of the two-week session a performance
will be performed for the public. Space is limited. Cost is

SHOW CHOIR CAMP – COLLEGE 4 KIDS. From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Provides
students aged 13-18 an opportunity to gain experience in
this genre. No show choir experience is required, and the
camp is appropriate for all abilities. At the end of the two-
week session two performances will be performed for the
public. Space is limited. Cost is $159. Final performances to
public at 7 p.m., June 23 and June 24. To register, visit

Area Museums MARINETTE HISTORICAL MUSEUM - The museum on Stephenson Island
highlights an authentic sawmill, miniature logging camp, early history displays and the
Evancheck Log Cabin. Hours are Mondays, noon to 2 p.m.; and Tuesday through
Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open some Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People may call
Darlene, 715-732-2545, to make appointments for large tours. Cost is $3 for adults,
$1 for ages 13-18, and ages 12 and younger are free.
WEST SHORE FISHING MUSEUM – Open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m.
Museum is located 15 miles north of Menominee on M-35. Free admission,
handicapped accessible, and dog friendly. For more information, please call 715-923-

PESHTIGO FIRE MUSEUM – Open daily 10a-4p. Free admission, donations
accepted. The deadliest fire in US history was in Peshtigo.
Visit the museum to hear stories about the fire, see artifacts
from the fire and displays of the lifestyle at the time of the
fire.

Community Events June 14 - FAMILY NIGHT - Sponsored by The American Legion Post 146 and held
at Spies Field, Menominee. The Legion Color Guard will present the colors prior to
the baseball game between the Red Wave and Bark River starting at 6 p.m. Veterans
will also be recognized
June 17 - CAR SEAT CHECK - Held at Riverside
Auto Group, 4030 Hall Ave., Highway 64, Marinette.
Check will ensure that the correct seat is being used, and
there are no recalls, as well as having the seat properly
installed by a certified car seat technician. Please call 715-

June 18 - FAMILY FUN DAY - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. @ Holy Family Parish, 2715
Taylor St., Marinette. There will be food, raffle prizes, bounce houses, kid’s games and
entertainment by Monica Giles. Open to the public.

Things to Do June 22 - BRATS FOR BREAKFAST - Hosted by Boy Scout Troop 1177 in
conjunction with Bay Cities Radio from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., at First United Methodist
Church, 601 10th Ave., Menominee. Johnsonville Brats will be for sale for a suggested
donation of $2.50 each. Delivery available for orders of 10 or more. Pre-orders can be
faxed to 715-732-0125; emailed to [email protected]; called to 715-587-
9601 (please leave message) or visit website at Bratsforbreakfast.com for order form.
Proceeds help the scouts go to various scouting programs, including summer camp.
June 23 – KIDS FISHING DERBY – 8a-noon, Stephenson Island – no

June 25 - ART FOR ALL - Art show and sale held at the Menominee
Marina Park, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., rain or shine. More than 50 regional artists,
hands on art area for children, food booths, and entertainment. For more

FUNDRAISER FOR MARINETTE LOGGING AND HERITAGE FESTIVAL -
Green Bay Bull Frogs vs. Lakeshore Chinooks. Gates open at 3:05 p.m., game starts at
4:05. $8 of every ticket goes to the Marinette Logging and Heritage Festival. Purchase
tickets by June 22. $20 tickets include seat, Bullfrogs hat, and a hot dog and soda. For

Sunday held on Stephenson Island. A full weekend of activities

July 19 - FAMILY FUN NIGHT – @ Menominee Marina - Sponsored by the
Menominee Recreation Department from 6-8:15 p.m., with a movie showing at 8:30.
Activities are free of charge for children ages 3-12. Nonparticipants may purchase a
hot dog on site for $1. Pre-registration is required to the Menominee Recreation

MOVIE IN THE PARK - @ dark on Stephenson Island – “Moana”
July 30 - HERITAGE CRAFTS DAY - 1-4 p.m. @ West Shore Fishing Museum,
15 miles north of Menominee on M-35. Demonstrations of old-time crafts such as
blacksmithing, wood carving, spinning and more. Explore three museum buildings, gift
shop, five commercial fishing boats, nature trails, and beautiful gardens and grounds.
Kids’ craft class on painting clay pots available for $7. Light refreshments available.

Menominee Marina – food, music, fireworks and parade –
the Menominee Rec. Department will sponsor children’s
activities on the north side of the American Legion

August 5 - KIDS DIG IT - 10 a.m.-1 p.m. @ Harmony
Arboretum. Feature guests include the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary’s Traveling Birds
of Prey exhibit. Attendees will learn about and experience wildlife, insects, soil and

August 11 – KIDS’ DAY IN MARINETTE – free activities for families from 8a-
10p at various locations – Abundant Joy Gifts and Gathering Place, Civic Center, City

Learning Center, Bayshore Nature Trail, City Park, Red Arrow Park and Stephenson
