Lost Property
Please can any students who may have items in lost property come and collect before the end of term.
During the summer holiday we will sell or dispose of all items not collected.
GCSE & A Level results
GCE results will be available at 9am on Thursday 18th August and GCSE a week later on 25th August.
If a student cannot attend in person they can nominate someone to pick them up on their behalf. That
person will need to bring a note from the student giving the authority to collect their results. We will not
release results otherwise.
Sports Week / Languages
As it was the National Sports Week, Y7 and Y8 students had the chance to take part in a Mandarin Sport
session during one of their French lessons.
Thanks to our Hanban Teachers, students had the chance to learn about what sports Chinese teenagers
like to play at break time and at the weekend. They learnt how to pronounce each sport in Chinese and
also had the chance to have a go at these sports in a carousel based session: Chinese Hacky Sack,
Chinese Ribbon Dance, Chinese Rope Skipping and Chinese Tai Chi fan dance.
It was very nice to see all students taking part in these sessions where some students could show off skills
they may normally not be able to show in their French lessons, especially as the weather did not permit us
to be outside with all the groups.
Alzheimer’s fundraising
On Sunday, myself and three members of KLA staff, Paul Aldous, Rebecca Schrooder and Laura Adcock,
along with a 5th person (a mutual friend) are off to Cambridgeshire to take part in (and hopefully
complete!!) a 10k Insane Terrain mud run challenge.
We are doing this to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society following the loss of my Dad to this awful
condition in April this year. The idea was born following an assembly input I gave at Kings Lynn
Academy where I talked about the condition and how it had affected a family before revealing at the end
the man in question I had been talking about was in fact my Dad. Not long after this assembly my Dad
passed away.
We have been absolutely overwhelmed as to the support and generosity of people and our current
fundraising total stands at £2,284. We have been supported and received donations from family, friends
and teaching staff and colleagues and parents of students. I (we) can't thank all of you enough.
We are sure the run will be memorable and there may even be some funny pictures to follow. If you
haven't yet donated and would like to, the Just Giving link is;

Many thanks and best regards,
John. (Pc 285 Bolderstone)
