A Little about the Program

➢Pegasus is a program designed to serve as a special education inclusionary classroom.

➢This design gives children with special needs the opportunity to learn from a typically developing peer.

➢It also gives our Pegasus students the unique opportunity to learn compassion and understanding as they are exposed to differently-abled peers.

➢The students chosen for the program are expected to serve as role-models displaying well-developed communication, listening, and social skills

Skyward/Skylert Text Messaging

➢ This year, Lamar CISD would like to utilize text messaging to communicate important information to our community. To

opt in to these messages, parents must log in to the Skyward Family Access Center and add a Text Message Number to

their Skylert communication options. To access this option, first click on the “Skylert” menu option inside the Family

Access Center.

➢Once on the Skylert communication screen, scroll to the bottom of the page and add a Text Message Number to

be associated with your students. You should also select the types of communication you would like to receive via

text. You may also add additional contact options in the “Additional Contact Info” area.

➢After you have made all necessary changes, scroll to the top of the page and click the “Save” button.

Attendance Matters at Hubenak

Page 46: Parent Information Night - LCISD

Helpful Tips for Awesome Attendance!!

Remind your child that school is their first and most important job!

Communicate the importance of regular attendance to your child, so they are hearing the same thing we are saying at school.

If your student is running a 100 degree fever or more, vomiting, or has diarrhea, they need to be kept at home. If they do not have any of these symptoms, please send them!

Avoid extended vacations that require your child to miss school. Try to line up vacations with the school’s schedule.

Please schedule doctor’s appointments during school vacations or after school.

Page 47: Parent Information Night - LCISD

Did you know?

Missing only an average of 2 days a month negatively affects academic

performance.

Poor attendance can influence whether

students read on grade level by the end of 3rd

grade

Page 48: Parent Information Night - LCISD

Student Absences:

• When students regularly miss school, they miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build good attendance habits for the future.
