Three Situations

• Situation 1: Bad Grades– A parent is not satisfied with child’s grades

• Situation 2: Punitive Actions– A parent is not happy about a teacher giving extra

homework as a punitive action

• Situation 3: Religion– Sexual Education is an issue for a certain parent

Activity Guidelines

• Two students do role-play (5’), third one observes– Observer takes notes on FACTS, FEELINGS and NEEDS

• After role-play, write group report on:– How was it playing this situation?– How was it observing this situation?– Observer asks “Did you feel [emotion X] because you

had a need for [need Y]?”
