BOARD POLICY

• By July 1, 2014, all Parents as Teachers affiliated program sites will comply with the National Center’s expectations for replication and model fidelity.

Model fidelity

• Model fidelity: providing services the way the model intends.

• Model fidelity = positive results (outcomes)

• Model fidelity:– Structural fidelity = adherence to a “package

of services”– Process fidelity = interpersonal elements

Why emphasize model fidelity?

Replication = consistent implementation

•Consistent implementation = expected outcomes

•Consistent implementation = strong brands.

Replication: Focus on evidence based practices

• Critical to replicating quality

• Combines good research, professional expertise and consideration of family characteristics

2011: 2 pathways

•Foundational Training only = Approved Users

•Foundational Training + Model Implementation Training

Foundational package = $ 795

– 3 days training, curriculum, toolkit, 1 year online access

– Annual renewal to online access = $100– “Approved User” designation

Beginning January 2011

Model Implementation package = $ 895

– 5 days training, 2 curricula, toolkit, 1 year online access, value add

– Annual renewal to online access = $75– “Affiliate” and/or “Certified” designation– Logo(s)

Beginning January 2011

Model Implementation for Supervisors = $200

– 2 days training– Model Implementation curricula– Annual renewal = $

What happens when you self-identify compliance?

1. All minimum requirements met

2. Minimum requirements not met, but willing to move to compliance

3. Minimum requirements not met, unable to do so (approved user)

Moving into compliance

1. Use 2010-2011 APR to self-identify compliance

2. Access conference calls

3. Develop compliance plan

4. Achieve compliance by July 2014

Training Realignment

Current Supervisors and Parent Educators meet training requirements by 2014:

• Parent educators attend Advanced Training (3 day Foundational Training)•Parent educators take on-line Model Implementation Training (available July 2011)•Supervisors take on-line Model Implementation Training and additional webinars

• Advanced Training only = $ 150– Approved User designation– Annual renewal to online access = $100

• Advanced Training + Model Implementation = $ 150– Affiliate/Certified designation– Annual renewal to online access = $75
