Dear Fellow Fairfield University Parents,

When the time came to visit universities with our daughters, Lane ’20 and Liza ’21, Fairfield was among the first. We were immediately enchanted by Fairfield’s stunningly beautiful campus; it’s superior academic reputation—solidified by the University’s stellar rankings; challenging curricula that serves to enrich individuals mind, body, and spirit; and students’ stories about their own Fairfield experiences. We left our campus visit thinking that Fairfield was truly a happy place to be — and we have found this to be true.

You are part of a very special community. Fairfield is a place our whole family loves to visit because we enjoy sharing in the same experiences with our daughters. The school has become the place that our girls live, make friends, work hard, and mature as they learn from their successes and failures. We love being part of the Fairfield family and building friendships with fellow Stag parents. When we look back on these Fairfield years, we want to know that we were present, involved and supportive, and that the stories shared will be our stories. After all, we will be Fairfield parents forever.

We invite you to be active participants in the University community because parents are an important part of the college culture. The power of thousands of Fairfield parents like you participating as a Parent Ambassadors, attending games and events, dining at the Tully, and making financial gifts is an important way to set the school apart. The University is a special place and everyone involved feels it, your involvement as a parent will only enhance your student’s and your Fairfield experience.

We’re happy to have you as part of our Fairfield community, and we invite you to get involved as a proud Stag parent!

Sincerely,

Lori and John Berisford P’20 ’21

HOW PARENTS LIKE YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE

“Being a part of the Fairfield community feels like an extension of my family. My parents love Fairfield as much as I do and enjoy hosting events for prospective and incoming students. Through their involvement with the University, I have been able to share my experience, grow my network, and create more friendships that will last a lifetime.”

• Participate in Mock Interview Days and Industry Nights

• Provide internship and job opportunities

• Attend regional chapter events, including career, networking, spiritual, enrichment, and social receptions. For more information, visit fairfield.edu/getinvolved

• Host an event to welcome new students and families in January or July/August

• Support Fairfield with a gift to the Parents Fund or area of your choice to enhance your student’s education and campus experience

• Participate in reaching Parents Fund goals through peer-to-peer fundraising efforts within the Fairfield community

• Volunteer your time to call and welcome families of confirmed students

• Lend your career expertise

“Fairfield University has offered many different events to help me grow professionally. I attended one such event this year in Boston, hosted by a parent from the Fairfield community. Because of this generosity, I was able to connect with successful parents and alumni who shared stories about their career journeys and professional advice with me and my fellow classmates. I am so grateful for this incredible network.”

- Katie Litchfield ’20

“Commitment to students’ post-graduate success is apparent from day one. When the opportunity to host a career forum in Boston was presented, I was grateful to host and share with other Boston-based professionals some practical advice for interviewing and entering the professional world.”

HOW DOES GIVING MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT FAIRFIELD? Each year, parents advance our mission by generously participating in our Parent Leadership Challenges and our annual STAGiving Day. Parent giving ensures rigorous and supportive academic programming, as well as student life activities, athletics, and a diverse range of health and wellness services, all rooted in Jesuit values. Your involvement strengthens our students and enhances the University’s national profile. We invite you to join us on this journey because parents really do make the difference!

PARENTS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL Many current and former parents have become leadership donors, providing millions of dollars in support. Gifts at the Parents Leadership Council level of $5,000 or more will provide an immediate impact on student financial aid, academics, and facilities. As a member, you will be invited to attend many special events hosted by University leadership, and will receive special communications from the Parent Engagement Office.

“Parents Fund support gives students like me access to advanced technology that supplements rigorous courses; and keeps class sizes small, allowing me to feel comfortable with my professors who not only know my name, but always make time to meet with me to answer any questions I have— from homework problems to career advice.”
