2nd Collections to Resume in October

Starting on Oct. 18th, the scheduled second collections will begin again. We have not taken up such collections in seven months, due to COVID-19 and out of respect for the many parishioners who have lost their jobs or are living through very difficult financial circumstances. Thank you very much! We deeply appreciate whatever you can afford.

Oct. 18th Mission Sunday Oct. 27th OUR PARISH Liturgical Music

* * * * * * * *

We Are Doing Fine at Sunday Mass! We Wear Face Coverings and practice Personal Distancing! Attendance at all six Masses on Sep 20th was 376 – and on Sep 27th attendance was 380.

WE ARE COMING BACK! We have taken all the necessary precautions in your church to make celebrating the Eucharist safe for you at Holy Trinity. We resumed Sunday Masses on June 28th, and our Sunday Mass attendance is growing--slowly but steadily--as more parishioners feel comfortable worshipping in the church building again. Spread the word to your family members, friends and neighbors to “come home” because we treasure you.

Fr. D’Angelo Jimenez Has Departed

As announced last weekend, the Pastoral Staff is very sorry that Fr. D’Angelo Jimenez, who has been here taking good care of the Comunidad Latina here at Holy Trinity for the last three years, has been transferred to Holy Name Church, 109 West 96th Street, NY, NY 10025. Sadly, because of parish duties there, he cannot celebrate Sunday Mass in Spanish for our Couminidad. Godspeed!

Fr. Antonio Almonte, a fine man of God, stepped in last Sunday for the 12:30 Mass. We will see if he will be able to oversee the Spanish Community!

¡Alabado sea el Señor! * * * * * * * *

Sixth Annual Blessing of PETS

Sunday, Oct 4th, 2:00 PM Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi Outside, On Our Church Steps

Who is the Saint of the Day? The saints’ way of life offers us an example.

The saints’ example lends us courage. The saints’ prayers sustain us in everything we do.

Almost every day of the year, the Church celebrates the Iife of a genuine hero of the Faith who, for the most part, lived an ordinary, Christian live in extraordinary fashion. We call these virtuous men, women and children SAINTS. For millennia, believers have gained spiritual strength by reading about the struggles and successes of their lives. We suggest you check out this really excellent website: catholicireland.net/saintoftheday. You will find the biographies brief, understandable and very often quite fascinating! You’ll be glad you did! Go, do it!

Sophia, ChurchMouse Reporting unseen works of faith, hope and charity to uplift you.

We are making progress with reassembling our 1200 parishioners for the “in-person” Eucharist. If you are one of the many who are still uncom-fortable participating at Sunday Mass in our church, you are encouraged to attend one of the WEEKDAY Masses at 9:00 AM or 5:30 PM with no more than 20 people in church. At least this way, you can come to Mass … and most importantly, receive Holy Communion. Stay safe and filled with Christian hope that we shall see an end to this pandemic very soon.

* * * * * * * * Holy Trinity Schola Returns TODAY

The Schola Cantorum under the direction of Dr. Andrew Yeargin, will begin singing at the 11:15 Mass today to lift hearts and minds to almighty God . . .and do so spectacularly! We are so fortunate to have this elegant group singing at our church. Only four professional singers will sing this year due to very real budget constraints. BTW, the annual, 2nd Collection for Liturgical Music will be taken up here on the weekend of Oct. 27th.

Confirmation at Holy Trinity

Confirmation had been scheduled for April 19th. Then came the pandemic – and everything closed down. Happily, our nine students received their Confirmation Saturday, Sept. 26th at the 5:30 Mass, with the Most Reverend Gerald T. Walsh presiding. Congratulations to our students, their parents and catechists who had prepared them, and Colleen Glazer, our Director of Religious Education. Our students: Isabella Bujaj John Carrozza Matthew Colen Ava Dahl Cameron Drew Ned Kerwin Fendie Rios Sal Vassallo Luke Ansty

Holy Trinity’s WeShare Giving

WeShare is our automatic giving system. Many have found it a very convenient way to make their weekly or monthly donations to the church, especially during this time when many are not comfortable attending Mass in person and are opting for our live-streaming. It is especially helpful now to help us maintain a more regular income. For more information and to sign up, go to our website: www.htcny.org.
